Default Key's 98 GS300 project

Well Im pretty new here but figured I'd start a build thread. Ive read threads on this forum for countless hours lol. Lots of useful information. I give props to the mods/admins and the great members that have provided the detailed information that have helped me get this car running like its supposed to. I bought this car about a month ago. I test drove the hell out of it and it ran perfect. Few days later I went and payed the cash and picked it up. Not more than a mile away, the SCV/ABS/SCV-OFF/CEL all came on. I took it to autozone to scan it and it had 14 codes in it. All ABS/SCV codes. While the guy was hooking up the scanner, I noticed there was a 3"x3" square rubber chunk laying on top the valve cover. I discarded it but soon realized its purpose. The prev owner was a shade tree mech and the plug wire was old and was arcing to the valve cover. Instead of replacing the wires, he stuck a piece of tire between the wire/valve cover.....Talk about a lazy guy. Ive since replaced the wires, plugs, and all of the filters. Changed over to full synthetic oil as well.

After reading multiple threads on here, I came across this thread and was able to fix all of the codes by replacing the alternator. After some time the CEL came back on and this time was "low catalyst eff".....I installed a magnaflow header w/cats and now the CEL is back to normal. here are a few shots of the car. Will add some DIY stuff on the header soon.

Driver seat was torn so fig better do both so they match. Back seat is next. Its perfect but now it dont jive with the fronts lol

Before

after

Also the leather was whooped on the shift ball. Instead of paying 100+ bux on a new one, I made my own out of mahogany.

Damn, those seats came out looking good... I normally hate weird colors but it works with the tan.

Once you do the rears, I hope you do the armrest inserts on the doors, and some 'aftermarket' ebay floormats in the same peanut butter/saddle color so nothing looks out of place - in my opinion of course...

Key, do you have any larger pictures of the car? Also, where in Texas are you?

I live in Jarrell, about 20min north of Austin. The first post here has some pics of the car I believe. They enlarge when selected I believe. I cant see them, our work security here just about blocks all image hosting sites...

I had a guy in Georgtown do them. Very good price and had them done in 3 days. I did the center console arm rest and the Tshift handle.
