Deputy's Build Thread
#77
I'm doing the best I can. All I can do right now is collect parts. I might try to fit in some clean up and do some things where I can to prep for the build.... but for now, I'll be parts hoarding!
I will say though, once all has been collected, there will be some crazy progress for 2-3 week straight while it all gets installed!

One Sexy SC: This Lexus SC300 is "Scupra" Cool

The RC might be the newest, hottest coupe from Lexus these days, but there was a time when the SC was in its position. Our forum members have done great jobs of taking the original L-badged two-doors far beyond their original capabilities. For instance, take a look at deputy865's Diamond White Pearl 1995 SC300.

Holy s*** I'm on the front page!!!
Maybe they can rewrite the article in a few months when I can show even more progress
Anyway, guess what came in?!
Borg Warner S366, .91 A/R, Twin Scroll
I decided to add the optional Billet wheel as well as get it ceramic coated in black (it'll go along with my engine bay theme!)
Can't wait to see this mocked up and coated along with my downpipe, manifold and wastegate!!

Here's a quick update with a 50% mockup. I say 50% because there is still a few more things to be done.
The BW got fitted with a V-band flange and the WG runner was put together... Who doesn't like pie cuts!? It was my personal preference to have the WG up front and center. The downpipe was also modified to have better fitment in my car. I'm hoping with some of these precautionary things being done with the exhaust, I'll be able to tuck the entire 4" exhaust up as high as possible to try to save the stance I have currently with my car. Still concerned about how low the exhaust will hang or how much I'll have to raise my car. Sounds petty, but I love the way my car sets as is.... In fact, I was hoping to go a little lower up front lol.. In the end, I will raise/lower my car to ensure best drive-ability.
Waiting on the dumptube from the WG to be finished up (WG shown is not mine), then it can all be sent off to be coated, final mock up and then we are finished!
I have a clean design in mind for the car.... but I've been contemplating having the WG dump out of the future vent in my hood? I don't want to come off too ricey though. However, this little alteration would add a bit of a "mean" factor to the car (in my opinion). My grand hood idea is to buy an OEM style carbon fiber hood, have it color matched (I personally wouldn't like the carbon fiber color paired with my DWP color) and then have a small, but functional vent cut above or around my turbo to help be rid of some heat. It wouldn't be just some hole in my hood, I would try to design it to look professional.... Anyway, I thought of dumping the WG out of the vent.... Thoughts??
Really excited to see this part of the car finished up; afterall, it is the focus point!
