I had to the same problem with the AEM v1, tried a least 10 different cables, installed there drivers etc... never worked from serial to USB. So I ended up getting a super old laptop that has a serial port on it and bam, it connected right up and didn't have any issues from there using a serial to serial cable. Sense Ive got the V2 now, I can hook you up with that laptop if you'd like? PM me if your interested. Its ready to go...

Thats good info right there, but something just came to mind that I didnt think of yesterday. Serial and USB transfer data at different rates. I should have changed the Bits Per Second value from 9600 to 4800, I even looked at the settings and forgot to changed it.

I did the same with no luck... but hey like everyone says every car is different. I picked up this laptop for 60 bucks and never looked back and never had an issues getting connected. Was well worth the 60. With doing so, you know have dedicated tuning laptop that you can leave in the car. Like I said, I can practically give this laptop to you folks sense i wont be needing it anymore....

But good luck!

Since I had a torn O-ring on my fuel rail i am going to make a new -8 an fuel rail. I wasn't planning to make one since I didn't need to. I did everything to try to get my AEM to work. Hopefully if I change the setting to 4800 like Chris said that might solve the problem.

The one that you see in the pictures is a stock fuel rail with -8an fitting welded on the ends. The one i am making will most likely be the same -8an inlet and -8 outlet to the FPR and -6an return from the FPR. Wired up the relay for the lq9 coilpacks two days ago. Only thing left is figuring out if I need to send my AEM back to AEM and intercooler piping and dumptube.

Car will be at the tuner tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully everything goes well. It has been a long road.
