Sorry to be Debbie douche over here but couldn't you put in a 1uz for less than a grand and have a rock solid motor with great torque, mean sound and unparalled reliability. when was the last time you heard of a Japanese V8 coupe????? JUst thinking about it from the same angle, I'm poe too!
when you have your mind set on boost, the power a stock 1uz makes won't cut it for long, and then they take alot more time and custom work to get more power. If you spend that cash on an na-t setup you can probably make double that power. plus you could just always buy a sc400.
Agreed...it takes a lot to get the 1UZ up in power...
Totally, TOTALLY understand it in your terms. And a paltry 250, 260 and lastly 290 from the SC V8s do pale in comparison. But whoever stops at the HP they have with a turbo setup especially with the block on these cars. Keeping my eye on this one. If you can make it happen, it would motivate me greatly. Tundra V8???..heard of it in whispers..lol
I do know from experience that in most cases, boosting the V8 is expensive, custom as there are no kits out there to buy off the shelf, and the room in the engine bay is very tight...
My thoughts...

I'll probably keep the mufflers, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the 3" downpipe to the factory exhaust. My plan was to add a QTP electric cut out underneath so it sounds factory when I want it too. I'm just concerned with the DP connecting to the exhaust, or if I should replace it all. I definitely want it on the quiet'er side. I'll visit an exhaust show after everything is installed.
Nothing really new to discuss this week. Congratulations to Omar on the new baby I'll wait for him to get situated at home, and then connect with him when he's ready. I'm in no hurry, I need to get a second car in the near future since my baby is due in October. Finally, my SC will exclusively be a weekend toy.

Got under the car tonight while it was on a rack. I'm going to list all of my current problems to date.
Steering rack is leaking from the driver side boot
Power steering pump is leaking all over.
Steering column needs to be replaced.
A/C compressor works but there are leaks all over the lines
Oil pan is leaking
E-Brake doesn't hold the cars weight on big hills
Driver side air bag doesn't work
Front brakes grind
Needs front lower control arms
Needs front upper control arm bushings
And the car needs new motor mounts.
