My take on power with this platform is whether you are safely putting it to the ground. My old 2g DSM made roughly 450awhp and I could blast through any gear, bang gears, on all seasons. With the sc300 you have to have the right tire, LSD, suspension settings, and be conscious of the weather / road patterns when you get into the higher power levels.

Nothing enjoyable about fearing going WOT due to it being unpredictable. Right now I have the old stock oem wheels and tires on mine and it's just stupid lol.

450whp in an SC is nothing. If you are having traction issues then you need to look at alignment, tires, and finally, I would recommend some sort of an LSD. I have the TRD unit in mine, but those are discontinued now. OS Giken makes a nice unit.

Car is an absolute blast on the street. All this after having had a 630hp dsm before this, it's still a blast. There will always be bigger fish, but I'm sure you'll love it. You'll probably be more focused on planting the power then figuring out how to make more, at least that's where I'm at...
I agree as well. There will always be a faster car than you out there. As long as your happy with the power thats all that matters. Awesome build thread. I cant wait to start building mine in the next week or so.

I have trd LSD getting ready to be installed and currently have 275/35/18 bfgoodrich sport comp 2 tires..

I am currently at 14 psi....it was very hard to get the 275 tires to break loose..with open diff...I assume I am right around 400hp

Would like to pick up a track set of wheels and run Toyo R88 in 275/35/18 front and 315/35/18 rear

FWIW I'm at 540hp, have oem supra lsd, supra suspension, 275/45/17 NT05R drag radials on supra wheels. I couldn't launch for **** at the track, spin and wheel hop. But they do perform decent on the street on from roll pulls. I'm looking into a better wheel setup currently. If you don't want to go drag radial, R88s are a good choice, but don't be surprised if you find out you can spin em in low gears once your at 20psi. I'm going ET street radial on my next setup.

I dont want a drag radial...but it would be nice to get an tire that is grippy for a street setup

In the spring plan on joining SCCA local in Pittsburgh and make it out to circuit racing at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Need to finish up my front splitter and thinking about getting a apr gt500 wing....both will be made removable if necessary....i.e use stock trunk lid and gt500 wing....and get carbon fiber one for the street or vice versa

Then sounds like you are looking at the right tires, pretty much as good as it gets without going DR. The width you're looking at too might help also. Make sure to report back how they work out. I'm thinking about doing 2 sets of rear wheels. A 15" setup with ET Street Radials for more serious fun, and an 18" street setup with R88s for a majority of street duty.

Im running 245/35/18 and 275/35/18 right now on my current wheels...18x8.5 +15 and 18x10 +25

But was looking at a set of 18x9 +30 and 18x10 +40.....should be able to fit some bigger tires on that setup...
