Awesome build man.

Are you doing the paintwork out of your garage? Wow, major props my friend! That's just awesome, taking the time to do things right is the only way to do it....

Good job my friend ! Now I can't wait for you to take a trip with your family for a week in South GA. I will get my cars prepped , ready for spraying . Damn , black I was told is one of the hardest color to paint since it shows every imperfection . But looks like you are doing good on that paint job .

What the heck are you doing with that catch can, lmaol ? It's like there are mushrooms growing on it. With the amount of time and money you are spending on that thing , you could have gotten a really good one that can even help evacuate crank case pressure . One with mesh filter / baffles and a port to the intake. Now you will be routing your lines from the valve covers all around to reach that catch can.

Hehe I aint complaining, just messing around . It's your car and money. Did you confirm about the AFRs we were discussing on the phone ?

Yes in the garage, I think you need that baking room or whatever the paint shop uses to dry the car fast and keep away from stray dust.

I have small particles here and there, but can be easily buffed out.

Black is okay, you just have to prep the surface perfectly. You'll see imperfections once you lay the basecoat. It's just practice and steady hands while spraying.
I was gonna get a new catch can but none of them fit on my engine bay. Maybe later when boredom strikes.
I have not read that AFR thread... will do later or not lol

Harbor Freight HVLP spray gun. Filler primer, 202 base coat and clear. You need reducer/thinner for the primer and base coat, activator for the clear coat. Some elbow grease sanding method

Yeap he is doing good . And this dude indeed is a funny guy . And he is very MAKULIT ...is that the right term Dennis , lmaol ?

Not even my daughter would probably ride on a pink car .. hehe.

One day , someone on an SC went to my place to pickup something . Front bumper removed and InterCooler / pipings in pink. Was surprised to see a woman driving it. She does the wrenching and work on that car with a 1jz swap on it. A couple of local members here like Chris (Chnk) know her.

Man , don't mess up my 2jz short block

Hmmm... I didn't know that those cheapo Harborfreight guns will do a good job. I used them for spraying what not around but not on the car. Maybe I can start learning and spraying a car.

I got a couple of different kinds when they were on sale a couple of years ago. Now you are encouraging me to paint a car ! Got nothing to loose I guess but time and paint. If not happy then get it painted professionally.
