Unplugged the battery, pulled the back up fuse, let it set over night. Plugged it back up and went out and drove at varying degrees. I varied between full throttle from a stop, general cruising, and full throttle from 55 to 75 to simulate merging in. It re maps the ecu to learn the increased air flow

Well I cleaned and polished my new set of Aristo Tail Lights like I did my headlights. I wasn't a big fan of the silver line the went around the edge so I sanded it off and the silver paint on the Aristo lettering was chipping so I removed it too. I think it looks good in black with the clear coat on it but I may go back and redo the silver lettering.
My header finally came on Friday....about F'in time. Next I am going to send it off to be ceramic coated hopefully it doesn't take as long!!

Oh crap $70 to fill up today! Over 18 gallons lol I was running on fumes when I got to the gas station!! Anyway my right rear window motor came apart yesterday. I found one on ebay for about $80 but I am going to check Pull-a-Part first before I order it. Going to try to find a 2GS steering wheel while I am there. Waiting on my wheels to show up and waiting for my header to get back from being ceramic coated. I need to find a weekend project so I am thinking about doing the "clear corners" mod and I definitely need to remove the GS300 badge now that I have the Aristo tails, the only thing that sucks about that is once the badge is gone I will have a few small holes in my trunk. Are there any other options besides buying an Aristo trunk lid or taking ot to a body shop to be filled and painted? Also more thing that is bothering me is my grill is really dull. It's not black its more of an ashy grey! I wonder if some of thar Meguires Back to Black polish will work or is that something that will have to be painted.

I think having a body shop fill those holes and repaint the lid would be much cheaper, but another option is finding Toyota Aristo badges instead?

Yeah that will probably be what I do. I thought about doing the Toyota badge but I like the Lexus "L" plus I have to many Toyotas in the driveway already lol!

Haven't done anything to my GS in awhile. So today I blacked out the grill! I think it came out well. If I ever do it again think I will probably use plasti dip. This time I used spray primer, few coats off gloss black and a few more coats of clear coat. Next I plan to clear the corner lights and while I am in there I will black the housings with some VHT high temp gloss. Let me know what you think!

Update time...I blacked out the headlights and I think it came out great!!
I also painted the little plastic trim piece next to the fog lights. I never understood why the pieces weren't color matched from the factory.
I plan to give the entire car another good, clay bar and waxing before it gets too cold.
I have also come across a great deal on a set of wheels that I really like but they are 20s and thats not really my style but its such a good deal and they look really good. I will post some pics so you guys can tell me what you think.
Well onto the bad news....I have a blown Head gasket!! Damn it! I own a 7m so I should be used to blown head gaskets by now lol!! Here is my plan....let me know if I am missing anything
Timing Belt and Water Pump (Aisin) $125 @ Rockauto.com
Top End Kit, T-Stat/Gasket/Crank seal $217 @ SS Toyota
ARP STUDS-$160
Machine work/Valve Stem seal install/ Pressure Test-$160
I think that should cover it.

The parts for my head gasket repair aren't all here so I figured I would knock out some of the other items on my list.
Steering wheel swap
Before
After
Laid down some primer, paint and clear on the Center engine covers
I have always hated the woodgrain so now its piano black
It was kind of a pain to removed the woodgrain after 20 years but the results were worth it.
I also did the trim that snaps into place around the sunroof. I am pretty happy with the results. I need to find an upholstery shop to wrap the door panels and rear seats in black. Thats it for now hopefully all of the parts to complete the head gasket will be here early next week.
