Well, since I loved my Akebono pads on my GTI, I decided to order them again for the Lexus. There's a great DIY out there where you don't actually have to remove the calipers to change the brakes so it looks like an easy job will be even easier this time around. I also ordered a cabin air filter.
I had a drop in K&N filter in the car, ready for checkout but decided against it at the last second. Not because I'm getting some fancy CAI intake in the future, but because I've decided to go with the Joe Z setup. I think that's a damn good setup, from what I've been reading, AND it's cost effective. My only consideration is that the MAF looks like it's inches from the stock air box. The MAF in the GTI is feet from the air filter. My concern here is the old oiled vs. dry filter debate. I never had MAF issues even after the K&N recharge cleaning with the GTI but I'm concerned here that the MAF may get screwy. Especially since I believe the F sport filter is a dry filter...I guess I need some more googling...
I will paint the calipers blue when I do the brakes. I'm going to try to plasti dip the outside bits today, weather and time permitting.

Here's a pic of the plasti dip finished but not cleaned up yet. It got dark and I had to stop until morning. And a pic of the headlight after the restoration kit. It's tough to tell but it is a lot clearer and less yellowish. Doesn't look new, but the car is a 2006 and it's been in the FL sun all it's life so I'll take it.

Thats the great thing about plasti dip...when I get sick of it I can go back to stock. But I always do things a bit different. Hell, I caught hell for putting my VW symbols white instead of black.
