JDMV8 "Build" Thread/Progression: Dec. 2011 - Present

Hi guys. I just got back from vacation last week (didn't fit in the dyno before leaving), and I sent out my steering wheel for alcantara work. Waiting on receiving it, and then the ECU has to re-learn since I disconnected the negative when taking out the wheel.
Butt dyno says gains, but numbers will tell. I'll give the car an ample amount of cycles so when I do go to Rafi, the car's parameters are all in check.
Here's the wheel!
Looks great, done by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel.

Cool, will mark it on the calendar for a follow up on your numbers, a lot of guys are anxiously waiting on the outcome!!??
By the way since you've had time to go through some miles with the tune and 100% E85 what does the gas mileage look like so far??
Thx

I did a cursory calculation and E85 is 1 cent per mile more expensive than 93 (for southeastern PA).

I think I'll add to the fleet before getting a supercharger ...just looking for the right car periodically
You're lucky you found an alcantara interior, I love them. I'll be getting a driver's racing seat eventually...
Update: the current E85 map didn't make any power on top of 93. However, there are adjustments Rafi will make. Next dyno log and tune session is TBA.

E85 testing concluded today. We found that the car didn't make more than 93. When temperatures dropped (mid-Atlantic US), the car wouldn't start for a week.
The car felt "peppier" the instant I went back to the 93 tune. I found that the most optimal fuel I've used thus far was ~1:4 e85/93 mix (16 gal in tank--3/4 gal e85; the rest 93). I base this on butt dyno + how the car behaved (idle/WOT).
On e85, startups were pretty painful...
The only benefit I see to e85 on our cars is reducing noxious emissions. I'm not sure if that is a primary incentive for people driving high horsepower, most-of-the-time de-catted cars.

Agreed on the above statement, my blend for the past 8+months has been between 4-5 gallons of E85 with 91 out here and my car runs like a bat out of hell with my mods!

I tapped the rain sensor for a Valentine One, paired with a Blendmount
We were hit with a blizzard here, so I decided to finally get to installing and wiring MY12 headlights. Wired w/a relay for 50% w/low beams, and 100% always on otherwise.
