Yeah, me too.

Actually, now its shiny - see pics below - the painting is done (it got a second coat after the pics posted before) and now the car has been clear coated. The smaller pieces - door handles, bumpers, mirror caps etc haven't been clear coated yet in the pics below.

Looks amazing. You know, the pictures of the car with the first coat looks like a matte silver paint and it looks pretty good!

I shed a tear when I saw the accident pics then I skipped to the last page and saw that the story has a happy ending. Now I'm shedding tears of joy LOL. Ok not really. but glad to see the GS back on the road. If there is another Erin Park meet,maybe I will come up. I'm in London. I owned a 98 GS300 around 10 yrs ago but had to sell it and just bought a 99 GS400 for a great price so I'm back on the CL forums! BTW you said your decision to put it back on the road was driven purely by financial reasons, but surely the car has some sentimental value to you no?

Yes, it does have sentimental value, no question about that. I've always wanted to have a very old car in amazing condition, so this meets that goal perfectly now - its 17 years old.

I always love seeing the very old muscle cars that have been restored and look brand new. Those types of cars have always appealed to me.

At the end of the day, its all about our personal priorities/acceptance of value vs. financial obligation and I'm not in a position to get a decent car without a loan. I can pay for a loan, but I just don't want a loan anymore. That's the bottom line.

Anyone wants to buy an excellent condition used GS400?

So did you have the car repainted the factory color (looks like Alpine Silver)?

Also are there still any CL meet ups that take place in the Toronto area?

Yes, its the original Alpine silver its being repainted.

Don't really follow the schedule of the meets that much anymore. Getting too old and tired and short of time.

I remember seeing a schedule posted somewhere, I'll check and post back again if I find it.
