Hang on here man, so let me get this straight.... So power steering FIRST went out, which then caused... Your alternator, and somewhere in-between today and your power steering failing, your starter then also went out, resulting in what's completely unrelated, some switches to not function.... Well good news is, that's prob just fuses obviously.. Like he said^ and the rest, well I don't get it...

Your power steering was leaking and leaked on top of the alternator causing it to go bad. The power steering is right above the alternator on the gs400. Its a common problem.

OHHH I see, dammmmm thats unfortunate, yea I've got the 300 so power steerings above the A/C on the driver side. So what about his starter? Just a coinidence timing wise your thinking? Or where's that located in respect to PS and alternator? Dam what a s****y situation, one goes out, if not caught right away, it infects other parts... Causing intimate melt down.... Jk jk.

I've got a '00 GS300. The alternator on this car is on the passenger side below the water pump. A leaking PS pump should have no effect on it. The reason the 400 has the issue is the leaking PS pump cause the alternator to short out. Theoretically, a leaking WP could cause a similar problem on the 300. Nevertheless, having one part go bad and cause cascading issues to other parts is not that unusual and not specific to Lexus (or any other brand for that matter). Just the nature of the beast.
