quick123's Build Thread... Finally
#77
Thanks bud...we talked about molding the spoiler, but wanted to keep this build as pure as possible, as in as much metal and as little bondo as possible. If we mold the spoiler, there will be a ton of filler and just wouldn't sit right with me. I am thinking about the Aimgain 3 piece spoiler for the near future, or just going crazy and getting a big fixed wing if this thing really turns out to look like a street DTM car...lol

Nice work, proper way to widen the car. Looking forward final paint going look clean

So more progress and changes...seems like the deeper we go the build keeps getting more and more involved, which is resulting in something that surpasses my original vision. This thing is amazing to see in person, as the wide body has been done so well you almost don't see it.
First, you will notice the lower half has been primered a flat black. No, the car will not be left flat black, it will be getting color and clear. Second, you will probably notice the new side skirts and front bumper. The GFX sides just didn't bring the side of the car down enough, and the custom touches flowing the stock body lines into the skirts was a really nice touch. The front bumper was needed since stretching the plastic stock bumper just messed with the radius of the front wheel arch. The new bumper has been heavily modified, as it has also been stretched, smoothed, custom front splitter built and glassed on, and the grill openings have been modified. We are not done either, as the brake ducts need to be worked out, the OEM lower grill mesh will be used, and some flush mount pod LEDs are being incorporated. Yes, I already have the updated headlights, we are just waiting for final assembly. And last, the ISF rear was used since I wanted something different than the wald trunk lip and myride diffuser that seems to be so common now. Custom exhaust tips and twin loop muffler delete is being made, so it should be pretty trick and loud when done.
That is pretty much it. I still don't want anything rushed, so it could still be a few more months, but expect to see this at lots of shows and meets this year in the southeast. It is representing Superstar Customs and shows what they can do, as well as bringing interest to our Lexus car club Lexotic. Enjoy the pics!!!
