I'm here to document my journey through the fun of owning a 1992 SC400.
I have compiled a list of things I want done to the car, and as it sits, I'm quite happy with it, but it needs much more!
I wish I started this thread right when I got the car, but there is plenty more to come so I'm not too upset.
Here are some pics the day I bought the car, after a 16 hour drive!
I did like the car when I bought it, but my dad took pictures of me all the time and I was so dead tired and wasn't in the mood!
Here are some pics of my car also (As of 8/24/2014)
I'm gonna find some pictures of when I got this car so you can see the transformation.
As of yesterday, I now have put my new rear bumper on. After the 5 hour process, stuck nuts and bolts, and everything you can imagine, its on! No more cracked bumper, and while I was there, I installed white LEDs for the license plate lights.
Not a fan of the tail lights....looked better stock IMO
I would much rather prefer all red tails. I think they look the best IMO and I will soon take care of that project, I just can't at the moment. It's hard doing DIY mods on your car when the people in the neighborhood don't approve
So tonight my bottom left speaker on my drivers side is making a weird cracking/popping and it changed pitch under acceleration.
I'm leading to believe this may be a problem with the Amp?

So I take the door panel off and make sure the larger speaker has its ground wire all connected etc?
Or is it more difficult than that? Where is the first place to look?
i'd check the plug on the amp first, it's in the trunk under the trunk floor. then after that door panel, and then maybe the headunit. do you have an aftermarket one?

I'm gonna take a look at the amp and re-plug in everything. Maybe I screwed something up when I installed my bumper? I'm going to insure its faulty before I get my replacement!
I'm running a 100% factory stock audio system. Interior is all stock except by TaninAuto gauges.
Clean black 400 newtown is pretty quiet to be doing burn outs lol
Trust me, the Newtown police love my car. It's 100% straight piped from the cats-back. It sounds like a domestic V8 rumbling down the street, and when you gun it, it makes some noise!
I get thumbs up by old men driving newer Lexus models, and one guy in an ISF left me a sticky note on my windshield complimenting me.
Here are pics from the other day after I had it detailed.
looking good man! very tasteful, i was going to suggest you tint the windows and i scrolled down aa few more pics and saw you had taken care of that. Car looks clean i used to have a black 99'. I miss it. What are the wheels? What are your plans?
