The Burgandy Boat
Been a member here for a little bit, mostly just lurked. Anyways, figured its time to start a build thread.
I had a Miata for a while and decided I wanted to do something a little different for the area.
Not too many people around here have big body luxury cars and after getting into my buddy's stock y33 and absolutely loving the interior and quality of everything i knew I had to get into something from the same breed. And that's how I ended up with this.
My goal is to just achieve a good looking, reliable daily car on a very broke college kid budget.
Picked her up for the whopping cost of $875. 1991 with 197k on on the clock but started up and ran just fine, even after sitting for some time. Only real issues were that it had zero brake fluid which I was worried about but luckily was just some rotted out rear lines. Easy fix.
Was pretty hyped when I saw this
Struck gold again and picked up a set of Work Euroline DH's with rubber and front PBM bolt on spacers for a steal. 19x9 fronts 19x10 rears.
Picture of the banged up side after the coil install. End specs after spacers are 19x9 +10 215/35 19x10 +2 225/35
Before the fronts came down
She gave me a little bit of trouble and would just refuse to fire up. After tracing it down to the crank angle sensor, which should have been an easy fix, I ended up with this.
Sensor was seized in there so ****ing bad. And of course one of the bolts snapped too, for a cherry on top.
Upper control arms were smashing the wheel wells so this happened
Fronts came down
Fronts got alligned
Integra type-r lip
Tints got done
Other things were gone in the mix but didnt grab any pictures. I blew off both the down pipes so I hacked together a full straight pipe exhaust. I'll grab a sound clip one of these days. As of right now i just have some interior bits planned along with a good cut/buff/polish.

Thanks, man. I've had the car for a little over 11 months now and I did not expect to love it so much. And yeah, i got stupid lucky with those wheels. Had to drive from CT to NJ to get them but it well worth it in money saved.

Exhaust consists of straight pipes off the header into y then a resonator then back to duals. modeled off the stock ls exhaust minus mufflers and cats and 2 1/4 pipe

How are you liking those Megans, do you find them to be too soft with how close your fenders are to your lips? I'm running 14k/10k BC's now and I'm about to rebuild them with new springs to get 18k/14k to get it stiffer since my car rubs a little bit more than I'd like

no doubt I could use some stiffer spring rates. My lips never hit my fenders, though, which is good. Kinda lucked with out with my fitment. The only time I really rub is when turning cause the stupid fenders cracked where the tabs are. I'm going to see if i can weld them up and get a good pull on them eventually. Thats whenever I decide/have the money and time to spray the car.
All in all though for the price i really cant complain about the megans. I had them on my miata and they were pretty much the same story. A little soft, but manageable. I've also never had any experience with any other coils on an LS so I cnt really give tooo much insight lol
