He should be fine. I'm running 255/35/18 on my 18x9 +45 PF01's on the front with no issues. I am having the run a 5 in spacer to give myself a little more clearance from (whatever the bar is called that goes from the UCA to the hub). Not sure if it's necessary...but it makes me feel better lol.
Thanks for the feedback. I was basing my analysis from another CL member, Sportskid1, on his experience with using 255/35/18 with the same wheel specs for the front and not having any rubbing issues.

Glad to hear that you too have no problems running this width on the front as well. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires tend to be wider than most other manufacturers but I think the diameter of the tire has more of an impact to rubbing issues than the width of the tire.
I still have to do more research on whether or not 275 width tires on 18x9 +35 wheels will rub on the fender edges in the rear but so far I haven't read anything to dissuade me otherwise.
At your ride height, I think it'll be very close with those 275s. With the 255s on my 19x8.5s with a 30 offset, I've got a 7mm clearance between the fender inner lip and the tire (BFG KDW II, runs narrower that PSSs). I'm tucking these bad boys of course.
Nearly 30,000 amazing miles have passed since I've had the OS Giken Traction Control Differential (TCD) so it's about due for some fresh differential fluid. At 50 bucks per quart, the 80w-250 differential fluid definitely makes the wallet feel a bit lighter.
I also picked up some new ATE Type 200 brake fluid since I'll need to swap this out in the near future as well.
Thanks for the compliment. I've always been performance-minded with my vehicles so I'll take advantage of whatever high-performance parts are available for this platform in order to improve the fun factor.

^Yep. If I went with 265 PSSs or KDW IIs, they'd rub the fender. LOL! But I've picked up a NOS set of Falken 452s for $200 for the rear (255/35/19) that will be installed before winter. Not the best performing tire; but at $200, I couldn't pass it up! My Federal 595 EVOs up front are still lasting crazy long...all thanks to the RR Racing LCA bushings!
I'm currently at West Palm Beach, FL waiting to attend the Lexus Performance Driving School at Palm Beach International Raceway tomorrow. I'm looking forward to driving the RC-F, GS-F, 3IS350,and 4GS350 around the track. I'll post my full impressions of the cars soon.
In the meantime, I took advantage of the sunset with my now decade old car which turned 10 years old this week!
Here's a couple of pics that I took during my time at the Lexus Performance Driving School at PBIR today. The random rain showers and lightning made it difficult to get the groups through the autocross and lead/follow track events in a timely manner.
We had an opportunity to do a couple of autocross runs in the 3IS350 and RC350 F-Sport. The RC350 kept its composure through the course and I had no complaints but when it came to pushing the 3IS350 hard on the course, I was utterly disappointed at how slow it was launching from a dig as well as how much body roll and lack of steering feedback I was receiving with this car in the corners. I can confidently say that a 2IS350 equipped with the F-Sport suspension package and an IS-F Steering ECU can easily run circles around the new model on a track.
Driving the RC-F for a couple of laps on PBIR was a much more enjoyable experience. Even though that portion of the event was merely a lead/follow process and we weren't given the opportunity to push the RC-F or GS-F anywhere close to the limits, you can feel the 255F/275R Michelin PSS tires stick to the track with hardly a hint of body roll. Having the 2UR motor at WOT on the straights was acoustically pleasing as well. Not sure why but the RC-F that I was driving on the track was only equipped with a Torsen LSD and not the higher-performance TVD. Seeing the RCF-GT in person was probably my favorite part of the event.
I plan on signing up for an open track day event at The FIRM in Florida for December 10th. Though I don't think my new tire set-up (255F/275R) will be ready by then, my current tires will definitely be fully worn by the time I'm done with a full day at the track.
This will also give me a good opportunity to see how the IS350 and the powertrain handles a full day at the track with the new ECU tune and the 7200 RPM rev limit.
