Can you confirm if the diameter on the 3is intake is 2.75" at the maf?
In a earlier post someone said it was 3" then necked down in the middle and back to 3" again.
I'm wondering if there are different diameters at the maf between intakes or if they are all 2.75"?

Depending on which you buy IS250/350 the diameter should be different. The stock 2nd gen IS250 has the pipe 2.75" all the way to the throttle body. Now the 3rd gen IS250 pipe should be the same in terms.
The 2nd gen/3rd gen IS350 should both be 3.00" to the throttle body. Though the 3rd gen IS added a slightly venturi design on the intake pipe on both models 250/350. Also only the Fsport trim adds the Sound generator for the 250. On the 350 it is standard.
Depending on which you have 250/350. You'll want to look at the letter on the pipe. A is for the 350, and B is for the 250 engine. Difference in throttle body sizes.

I have a 3is F-Sport with sound generator and ordered a generic 2is 250/350 intake for some testing. The 2is intakes fit the 3is with the only major difference being the location of the vacuum line. I noticed its 2.75" all the way through and now I'm wondering how that will effect the maf readings? I was under the impression that the diameter at the maf had to stay the same no matter what they do with the rest of the pipe.

The Maf housing stays the same as its located on the top cover. That diameter won't change unless you go aftermarket intake.
I see. It slipped my mind that the maf is on the lid and not the tubes with the stock intake. Thank you
I'm wondering, would the aftermarket intake with the 2.75" maf opening still be an apples to apples comparison when reading g/s?
Ok, so it's Wednesday. Where's the updated pics of it in the garage next to the 350? LOL!
Sadly, the Redspencer IS350 has been demoted to living out in the driveway after being kept indoors for the past 14 years. I may have to find a new house with a three car garage to bring it back inside (or invest in a bendpak four post lift).
Currently, the IS350C and the A91 Supra are the two garage queens while the GX470 and the IS350 are the daily drivers.
My garage, which has recently been remodeled, unfortunately has been claimed by my wife as "storage". No cars allowed. She even had rubber flooring installed. I tried to convince her our "need" for a Bendpak, but alas all my logical, rational arguments went unheard. Sigh...

That's depressing but you're a good man. Happy wife, happy life!
