Gerrb.. We didn't re fire the engine. ( today ) .
We ran a separate hose bypassing the cooler sandwich..
What we got was a fast leak down and gurgles in the pan. Same as before so nothing has changed.
Current state is no coolant in radiator, fresh load of oil in engine .. and run for 30 seconds. ( yesterday ).
We have not located the gasket tab.. so we are NOT 105% sure that is correct.
It's almost like an oil & coolant line ( or passage ) are cross connected...Or in a worse case a crack
But that amount of coolant/ oil exchange in under 2 minutes.. Godzill could fit through that….
Just FYI it's a JDM bottom & turbos with a USDM head, intake injectors on top…. ( if that matters ).
Tomorrow more deep diving to find that " tang"

Well we re investigated the Supra gurgle.. So tomorrow it starts coming apart AGAIN, there MUST be a coolant passage tying to the oil system main line. When we pump up the cooling system ( post 5 psi ) we hear bubbles in the oil pan. Which means ( I hope ) we have the head gasket flipped somehow that allows that to happen..BUT if the gasket is on CORRECTLY… Bigger , more expensive issues are afoot ~David has 4 days down time ( well not school time ) So I KNOW where I can find him. All perfect wrenching days as far as weather goes.

2JJZGTE Head gasket BLUES…
Well we didn't get the head off …yet..
BUT
Exhaust & intake is all off.
Rocker's covers are off.
We were loosing the light and David had' enough" for today…
I gave a feel under #1, drivers side.. and it FEELS like the tab is there..
I felt what would be the underside of the stamped numbers….
SO IT IS a factory head gasket ( found the " box" ) .
AND it is installed incorrectly!!! ( we will know exactly tomorrow).
It MUST allow a jump between COOLANT & OIL.
and WE WIN not 1 but 2 special kinda stupid awards...
DO'H!

We know that the gasket cannot be installed up side down due to the sizes and distances of holes. It can only be flipped around to install it incorrectly .
Just took a picture of an old gasktet on top of my extra 2JZ blocks.. This is how a flipped around gasket looks like on Cylinder 6 passenger side
BUT , I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I hope it is just really a flipped around gasket and not a crack anywhere... WHY ? If it was flipped around, you should have lots of oil dripping on the side of your block and on the floor.
Because there will be a gap between head and short block where oil sips out since half of that oil passage is blocked.
I really hope that it is just really a flipped around gasket. Another possibility .. just a wild guess since I don't know how the internal construction of turbos look like. ... turbos has oil and ccolant in them....I wonder if there is a possibility of internal leakages in that area.

Well there is NO OIL nor Vanilla Latte in that area… But there IS a gap on the pass side of #6 between the head & block head gasket thickness…. When the turbos came out, we plugged the coolant send & ret lines and the system leaked down at the same rate.. I assume all those HOLES on that side are where the oil up feeds are going to the cams, valve train ?
There was ALOT of oil getting up to the valves.. still a lot of Latte up there to be cleaned out…
It will be light here in a bit and the wrenching WILL continue…
This is a minor setback and we have a new head gasket ready to rock.. we have the cooling system more or less intact and capped.. the second the head is on we will pressure test the cooling system.
If that holds we will proceed.. if not..UURRGGGHHHH

2JZGTE HEAD GASKET Blues PT Deux
FACE PLANT… SO 180 flip.. Wezzzz got's SKILLS
Vanilla latte anyone ?
So David is busy cleaning, cleaning more cleaning post tear down.
Gerrb that 1/2 hole you were referring to on the pass side of 6, it's a drain down not a pump up and it's covered ( I THINK ) by the flipped gasket on the head side, ergo no leak.. Could have been though if we TRIED to drive it !
David is just jamming so I don't get to do an in depth study about what transfers where when the gasket is flipped.
There is no mechanical damage on the top end, since the runtime was so short & no load.
Tonight I will try to study this a bit further

yeap.. all those big holes on each side are drain from the head.. not pressurized so I guess the reason while it didn't sip out on that area.
At least you know what the problem is. Just clean it out properly . I will still replace oil one more time after a 3 minutes idle to take out that contaminated oil out... It will be a less expensive insurance.
Bad oil is not good for your bearings..... you will spin a bearing.
Just wondering you guys didn't catch those mis aligned or mis matched holes...lmaol... so excited to get it going I guess...

Well I take a nap for a couple of hours.. and David goes Crazy... the head is back on & on final torque...With the gasket on correctly!
Missing " proper" alignment on the gasket...NOOB MISTAKE from RUSHING!
