I'm also trying to piece together a single conversion. I'm just stuck on what to get. It's my daily right now so when I get it all, it'll have to be a weekend project minus the tuning obviously. I'd like to go standalone but don't know yet if that'll be possible so any suggestions on what the next best thing would be? I have a 00 aristo swapped, bpu

Default RECEIVED engine and turbo kit

Just picked up my engine and turbo kit today. I guess next time I should read the fine print because I received a much bigger turbo then what I was expecting. But that just means more free HP. The turbo is a 87mm turbo with everything included that I could see

You are going to have so much lag with an 87mm turbo. That thing gonna be spool at 5000 rpm or something. You planning on spraying nitrous?

I wont be using NOS but I will definitely be installing around a 4k stall converter to help with that

Looks good! Dont worry too much about lag, you have enough displacement to move it. Lol I remember in my evo days people were saying that the 35R was too laggy when it hit the market. Now you see them with 7175's on 2 liters. Good luck with the build.

Sorry man just seeing this. standalone is the best way to go just because with that you are able to control everything exactly how you want it. they are just more expensive than lets say a piggyback. DM me anymore questions if I know the answer I will try and help I'm new to this stuff too ( meaning a swapped GS) but I have a few friends with swaps so I get to use their knowledge

Nice. Yeah the only thing with a bigger turbo is the lag but you seem like your going to compensate for that

Default Wiring

So i'm partly ready to pull the motor and am reading up on the wiring problems people are having. So from what I can tell I will have to wire in the tach wire from the ignitor. And does anyone have a link on which plugs have to be swapped on the ecu? other then those wires is there any other wires that need to changed around?

The old motor is out. So just an update of the whole process. I have access to a lift so instead of disassembling the whole front end I pulled the motor from the bottom. And I had to swap the aristo tranny with the lexus because one of the oil cooling line fittings that is casted into the transmission case was broken off so until I can find a solution for that the lexus tranny will have to do.

So I know the GE trans will bolt on to the GTE but since its a 5 speed is there anything more you have to do to control the shift points? If it were up to me I'd rather use the 5 speed auto anyway for mileage reasons but its definitely not as strong..

so far I am not sure of that part yet until I get the electronics hooked up. But I would almost be positive that I might run into problems with that once I get it started

So I did run into some problems with using the stock lexus transmission while mounting the engine but a few simple fixes with the motor mounts and making a transmission mount bracket fixed that problem.

installed the AEM fuel pump and added the return line. I had to use some basic brass fittings and O-rings since my local Napa couldn't come up with anything better.

So an update for over the weekend. I did get the car to start and turn over but it would not stay running. I am thinking it might have something to do with the theft system and key so I'm gonna have the computer rewritten for the lexus key to see if that helps. If any one else has any suggestions I would like to hear them.
