Building an IS350 6MT

What new parts is required for a successful swap? Are you running a stock is350 ecu or a piggyback system?

I used a reprogrammed new factory ECU.

I don't know exactly as I did a few other things at the same time (windshield, brakes, etc.) and it's going to depend how much you can get the engine and wiring harnesses for. You're going to need a stronger clutch as well as all of the fuel lines and modules. Of course labour if you don't do it yourself, it can add up. Like I said though, it's really going to depend on what the various parts cost to get.

Did the first oil change on the new engine this week and finally got the new tires on the car, they're Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R in 245/40R17 front and 245/45R17 rear. I would have preferred to keep the square tire setup, but the differences between the IS250 and IS350 VDIM parameters just weren't working for me. Thankfully it doesn't look too bad and the driveability is definitely much improved. Traction control does seem to come on a bit quicker than the IS250 (even when taking into account the higher power) but it seems to be a bit less intrusive than the IS250.
The only unfortunate thing about having the taller rear tires is the effective gearing difference. I was considering going to a shorter final drive before, but now that I have the taller rear tires I think it's pretty much certain that I will. It's not bad, but it is noticeable.
I also took a video of the car starting up inside:

Conveniently, there are a lot of 4.10 gear sets available for the GSE20 rear subframe, notably the FR-S and BRZ which come with a 4.10 and the same Torsen T2 LSD I currently have installed in my car. (The IS F and GRMN Mark X both also used a Torsen T2, in fact the GRMN Mark X even used the 4.08:1 gearing with a Torsen - they keep copying my ideas, haha).
So that's the current plan.

^Let us know if you make the swap AND take pics! I've seen plenty vids on how to shim a rear carrier with a new FD and matching pinion, but NEVER seen anyone document it on here!

They feel great, and this may sound like a semi-odd complaint based on the type of tires, but my biggest issue with them is the road noise. They're much louder than the RE-11/A, especially in the 50-75km/h range. Enough so that I am considering the possibility of replacing them with something else.
I probably won't though. It's hard to give up grip, lol. I haven't pushed them hard enough to get a good comparison between the RE-11A and the RE-71R.
