Smile Shadez Gen1 Build

Just purchased this 1990 LS400 for a $1000. 175,000 miles from an original owner with all service records from Lexus for its life. It was always garaged and well taken care of. My plans are simple upgrade as wheels, coilovers, tint and maybe...just maybe body kit.

New Wheels! I purchased these used PIAA 19x8.5 with Michelin Sport A/S on craigslist last night for $400.00!! Tires have about 75% tread and wheels needed a good cleaning. After a long night of cleaning I took them to my guy at discount tire and had the road forced balance and mounted!!

Well I think the new wheels look great!! I'm 1,500 invested now and happy with my progress so far. I know I need to lower...I'm thinking megan coilovers for 699.00. Open to ideas of other types if you wanna chime in. Next is doing brakes, front and rear (with rotors).

Nice purchase.

Out of curiosity, has the car been resprayed or in a major accident? I noticed that your core support was painted white, and your bumpers are slightly darker. This isn't a big deal, though.

You're also missing the central air flow cover, which is important; I forget what it's really called. You can see it in the photo below:

It's interesting that you only have the battery cover, as that's the one that I hardly see anymore. You usually at least find the central piece.

Take care of those original wheels, as well. The chrome rims are rarer, on these cars.

I'm with dicer; those would be nice to have, but you're a little too far.

Pm me a price for your old stock wheels, shipped to 78726, if you'll sell them. Thanks!

Not to deter you from wanting to purchase the wheels, but don't you own a 1997 LS? The 90'-92' rims are 15", which are smaller than the 16" rims on your car, and will not fit unless you downsize your rotors and calipers, which I don't think is a possibility for 95'-present models.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I'm looking for a similar finish rather than the dull silver.

I know how you feel! Although, the silver rims have a little gloss to them. Good luck searching for a set.

I got first dibs on the wheels.

Its the intake air silencer that's missing.

The wheels would need to be crated real good for shipping. So whats the price for them?

Thanks for the comments guys! As far as the air silencer..I guess I'll need to get that...
Factory chrome wheels...I don't know what they're worth my friend...they also have almost brand new continental tires on them..are you just interested in the wheels?

I'll check on shipping Monday. Chrome wheels and tires? Or just wheels?

I know there's a little over spray front right fender from a small accident he mentioned. Don't know about core support being painted, but I'll take your word on that buddy.

Don't know about the core support being painted white, but I'll take your word on it. I do know from body repair receipts that the right front fender was resprayed in 2004. (1,400 repair.) As far as the air flow corver, guess I'll need to get that. Also thanks about the chrome wheels info..didn't know they're so rare.
