The Bastard

:Interior: heater unit and dash board support

Modifying the air intake filter to make it fit the supra.

The SC intake was a bit too high. I constructed a new, thinner version

This scope for the air duct to the wind shield was a bit to high as well.. Cut away ca 1 inch

Modified air duct

dash board support

As I mentioned earlier the dash board support didn´t fit at all. This is the way I solved it.

This is the Support from the SC (LHD). I cut away the bracket above the steering column (2) and the right and left ends (1 and 3)

This is the supra/RHD support that donated the parts needed.

SC/LHD support doesn´t fit. Different attachment. I´m holding the “ steering column support”(see earlier in thread) and used it as a guide to get a good fitment on the new construction.

cutting away the SC version of the bracket above the steering column and replacing it with the supras.

Supra/ RHD version of the bracket above the steering column welded in place on the LHD/SC dash support . Notice: The bolt holes on the RHD bracket was turned upside down to fit LHD. I used the loose “steering column support” as a guide to get in the right place.

The new centre bracket in place, but the dash support is not yet modified on the right and left side.

The RHD/ supra right side bracket on the dash support that will be mated with the SC/LHD dash support

How it has to be cut on the backside to make room for the ac/heater unit and the TRAC ecu.

Preparing for welding.

body harness interior

Since the Supra is a lower car, I had to adapt the SC body harness to make it fit. This is the part that lays above the steering column. I had to make it a bit “thinner”.

Removed the oem plastic cover and constructed a new, thinner version.

Body harness with modified plastic cover in place behind the dash support.. The yellow loom is for the airbag sensors

airbag ecu

As I mentioned earlier, The supra has its airbag ecu in another place, behind the parking brake. However, the bolt holes for the SC placement was there on the supra, so everything was bolt on.

pedals

The bolt holes for clutch, brake and gas pedals where all the same on the SC and supra. The donor car was an auto, so I had to get a pedal kit.I´d like to thank ihiryu here on clublexus for selling me a nice pedal kit from a wrecked manual SC!

The clutch pedal spring was a PITA to get in place. I managed to keep it compressed with tie wraps when installing it.

Pedals from a manual SC in place.

dash board

Since the Supra has a black interior, I wanted the transplanted parts to be black as well.

Paint it black. I used spray cans with plastic/Vinyl paint

This is behind the gauge cluster in the SC dash board. The modified dashboard support was in the way for the air duct leading to the left side.

Modified air duct.

Dash board

Test fitting the dash board. Ca 1 inch higer than on the supra. The width is more or less the same as the Supra

Here you see that the dash board is a bit to high. I covered the gap with foam rubber painted black.

:carpet

The SC carpet is a bit longer. and the Supra carpet is a bit wider at the doors.

I ended up using just the drivers side of the SC carpet. but had to use parts of the supra carpet as well on the drivers side as the SC carpet wasn´t wide enough.

Mating the the sc-carpet part with the supra carpet.

front pillar garnish

The front pillar garnish had to be adapted to fit the SC dash board. I did this by mating the garnish from the SC with the Supra ones. In this picture you see the supra garnish in the bottom, and the SC one on top.

I used filler and glue to put them together

After fillers and sanding I covered it with a thin layer of foamrubber. I then took a piece of leather from the SC´s door trim board and covered it. I glued the leather piece on the backside of the garnish. On one side first, then stretching the leather, and then gluing the other side.
