The Bastard

Door right side

Door handles. SC to the left.

Key cylinders where similar, but with different attachments to the door handle. The wiring where the same, so the Supra cylinder connector was plug in to the SC harness.

Speakers. Same connectors to the loom.

I transferred the intact SC speaker to the Supra. Not a percect fit, but it worked.

Door right side: control mechansim

Installing the SC control mechansim to the supra trim board.

The supra door, now with the wire loom from the SC. Should give me working speaker, electrical window, electrical mirror and defogging function on the mirror. Couldn´t fix the central locking system though..

Engine

A mkIV should have a 2jzgte , but
I went for a 1jz instead .
I´d really like to do a 2jz swap some day. Gerrbs excellent write up of the swap makes it tempting, but I guess I´ll have to build up my self confidence a bit more first. The wiring still scares me .
A 1jz is cheaper and easier. Electrically the car will be a Lexus sc, so a soarer 1jz will be an easy swap. Not a bad alternative I should say.
I found a good engine from a -92 soarer from a mate in the U.K. 150 000 km on the clock

: V160

I bought the V160 from the same guy that sold me the Supra chassie.

Sanded and painted + new oil.

This is the reverse light connector on the V160. This one had to be modified to fit the 1jz harness.

The Bastard-

V160

The reverse light wires on the 1jz auto harness is in the big grey connector that goes to the auto tranny. By following the ecu pin outs and using an ohm meter I could detect what every wire was for.

The speed sensor connector is the same on the auto tranny and the V160

New connector, which I borrowed from the door speaker in the SC´s door harness

The 1jz harness for the auto tranny. The connectors for the solenoids covered up.
