Default 94 SC300 NA-T Build

Well I guess I will start a build thread to keep me working on the project.

For starters, this is a continuation of HiPSI's build since I bought the car from him about a month ago.

DDMTuning 50w 6k HID Kit w/ relay harness kit

Now on to me

I have welded on a flange and connected a TiAL 50mm BOV. It didn't have a bov previously so I got to this pretty quickly.

I added LED lighting inside and in the trunk. I like the lights other than the map light, which are visible through the plastic so they seem out of place. They light up the whole car though so I have kept them for now.

Enkei Raijin wheels installed with Bridgestone Potenzas. Staggered 18x8.5 235/40 front and 18x9.5 265/35 rear.

BC Racing coilovers. Still need to get an alignment in the next few days.

I'm hoping in the near future to get window tint and then start saving for more parts to increase power. ECU, fuel, transmission, etc. In the meantime I will get to upgrading the brakes. Car currently drives and handles well. My previous car was a 2006 220whp supercharged automatic civic, currently driving a 2015 hyundai sonata so the ~400whp is pretty fun. This is also my first manual car. Although I have driven standard before, it took some time to get it back after 6 years.

I will post some photos later once I can upload them.

Finally got to uploading these. First photo of how I picked it up. Then fitting my tial bov, test fitting wheels and finally wheels and coils all done (prior to alignment).

Now it has gotten it's alignment and will hopefully get to some cleaning this weekend before a few car meets. Cleaned up the interior already with some 303 for now. Seeing as the seats are worn and the drivers one has some tears, I wasn't overly worried other than dusting the dash and such.

Great buy, That's an amazing car... Can i ask what you paid? (its okay to say no)

I would throw some higher(less low profile) tires on the rear it seems like you have plenty of room with those rims. I think i run 55 or 60 with my 18 inch rims and it fills the gap well.

I like the location of your BOV it's loudest for passengers there haha.

I was running a turbo blanket like that when i had the my automatic turbo'd and i noticed it was actually warming the intake pipe above it more so because it was actually touching compared to without the blanket. Might keep turbo slightly cooler but i was increasing my intake air temp quite a bit. You also have a 2.5 inch intake i was running 3 inches so if yours doesn't touch your probably all good.

Thanks scsexy!

Tires... I would have liked to have gotten a slightly meatier tire like a 45. This current issue is I am rubbing a little on highway dips. I don't want to add even more preload and make the rest of my ride miserable. I may roll the fenders to kit it from hitting the liner. The liner seems thick out at the lip where I rub so maybe I can sand down the plastic a hair. It is the more minor of rubbing. Roll the fenders and drop it another inch would be nice. Exhaust needs to get hung up a little higher in the rear as well as it will scrape. Long story short, roll fenders, mount exhaust and I can drop it a hair...

Thanks! It was close the the TB giving decent response and short vac lines. The intake does warm up just a little although they don't touch. Since the cold side piping is long going from the driver side back to the passenger side I will likely live with it until I can get a FFIM down the road alleviating both problems at once.

UPDATE:
Got some new clay bars in the mail, waiting on iron-x then getting a good detail in this weekend. Andrew was kind enough to clean the car up for me before I got it, but the pollen here has killed it. Good Easter weekend project.

Pete, great starting point. Andrew took really good care of that SC! Can't wait to see the continuation progress. What part of NC are you in?

Yeah he did. Very happy.

Today got a nice detail in to get some good wax on... pollen here is nuts so I wanted to get some wax on to keep it from sticking.

I'm in the raleigh area.

Well having Friday off was nice.

Washed, iron x, clayed, waxed with some cleaner wax on friday.

Fenders rolled on Friday by a guy who travels the state doing it full time for 23 years. The work is spot on. No more rubbing.

After some Friday night fun and meeting people I got some tints done Saturday. 35% Carbonxp all the way around. Looks perfect to me. I also have a windshield sun reflector made for the SC and it fits really well. It can be found on Amazon fairly cheap. Works well in the sun all day while I'm at work.

Not sure what's up next...

Well the bullet cover from driftmotion came in today. I'd say it fits right in.

Wiring in a 2 way car security system this weekend so hopefully that goes well. Just lock, unlock, tamper sensor and stuff like that. Also got some replacement audio parts as the stock sub sounds cracked.

Well today I installed a compustar 2 way alarm system. No trunk pop option at the moment but may add it later. 1 mile system for lock, unlock, alarm and tamper sensors.

I can say the job wasn't overly fun and I will probably go to someone for one in the future.

I have some speakers I may throw in shortly. Getting quotes on redoing the front seats as well. The rear seats aren't perfect but I'll pick up a used set and call it a day. I have some cord to tighten up the seat back mesh pockets so I'll get to that, too.

The carbon xp film and a windshield sun deflector keeps the car insanely cool in the sun.. I recommend the tint to anyone looking for quality.

Started cleaning the calipers I got from a forum members. Ls400 in decent shape. Pads have good life left, but I'm going to do new pads and new rotors while I'm at it.

Current plan is black with white lettering. Probably paint them in the next week or so and order the other parts.

You're a bold man for cleaning that in a ss sink. (I'm a fan of decent home layouts. Nice kitchen) and good progress.

Haha I rent the place so as long as I don't beat it up too bad I'm good. No plastic tub here sadly.

Got the second one clean today. Will paint shortly. Install will wait for me to get some parts, but little progress is better than none.

That agreed. Little progress is better than no progress.
