Tonyucf20 Build Thread
Sup guys. I'm new to the forum. Bought my 98 ls400 about a year ago with the plans of keeping it as a daily. One of my good friends had owned 3 already and I always liked them after that so I finally decided to get one. Here she is as she started
After having her for a couple of months and getting tired of the old school tape cassette radio I decided to go with a pioneer double din with an amp for my highs and a soundqubed HDC3 12 for some bass. At 1600 RMS.. i must say that **** hits but i got a custom box built for it and it just took to much space in my trunk.. i rocked it till about a month ago
Anyways.. about 2 months ago I got the itch to start messing with this thing... she has so much potential and i was parking her in the dirt and treating her like ****... I started off with the purchase of some function form type 2's... Ive used function since my honda days over 10 years ago and always liked their products and customer service. My good buddy helped with the install and thats where it all started
These coilovers are meant to be slammed... **** was bananas... I obviously couldn't drive at this height so i raised it up as much as i could and started the search for wheels. Didn't take long since i found a brand new set of Leon Hardiritt Gemuts for sale. Being a 2015 model wheel and no one having them in my specs and color i jumped on them and picked them up about a week after the coilover install.
Took the wheels to the great guys at Fender Defender in Santa Ana Ca and got the car shaved tucked and rolled.. Then got the wheels mounted.. gotta admit i was pretty happy with the look
After driving the car for about 2 weeks and learning how to drive a slammed car all over again (had been atleast 5 years since ive driven a car slammed to the floor) I decided i had to bagged the car.. im getting into my 30s and well i dont want to deal with driveways and dips anymore haha... After talking to function form i decided to use their ONAIR bags which are pretty much Uas aerosport bags but with function's logo on them
3/8 fittings.
Now as far as management system went... i was 100 percent on accuair's elevel system... but after talking to the guys at fender defender and people that have accuair i decided to give Airlifts new 3h system a try instead... you really get more bang for your buck vs accuair. the display is beatiful and full of features that accuair either doesnt offer without purchasing more stuff or just doesn't offer at all... Ordered my kit from bagriders about 2 weeks ago and it came in a week. free shipping to.
system got installed this past weekend and well so far i love it.. no complaints.. fast forward 2 days later and here is what i got... we will see what happens next.....

Dang, you're moving quick haha. Those Leon Hardiritt Gemuts are beautiful!
Also, hate to be a spec hunter, but by any chance do you remember how big of a box you had? I want to build something that takes up the same amount of space, but as a 4th order bandpass with a pair of 10" subs, and I'm wondering how much cubic feet you had with your old box?
