My friend was hosting a car meet yesterday at their Photo studio.

This has started to happen the last few times I drove the car. After it sits in the sun for a while the Odometer stops displaying and Speedometer stops working. It was 87 degrees yesterday, and after 2-3 hours it stopped working.

After about 30 minutes driving with the AC on, everything works like nothing was wrong. I have another gauge cluster from a parts car I previously owned, but I don't want to deal with odometer changing, so I need to find someone to fix this.

I was talking to Ren about the gauge cluster issue and a few days later he sent me a post in one of the facebook groups.

Here is a screenshot of his post to give him credit. "MURATA CSTLS4M00G56-B0"

Apparently a Resonator goes bad inside of the speedometer causing this to happen. The part is about 20 cents, and shipping is $8. LOL

I ordered the part and will swap it out when I have a chance. Not exactly sure how I'll test if it really solves the issue, but this was a lead worth exploring.

The part I needed to fix the cluster finally came in.

I took the cluster a part.

Located the part.

Then I chickened out because I would have to pull the needle off to get access to this panel. I didn't want to risk screwing up the calibration, so I left it alone.

Only upside is, while I was in there I finally pulled the brake light bulb out since I have LED bulbs.

I got a new broadway mirror for the SC. My original mirror that I've had since like 2004 finally gave up. The tension of the springs isn't there anymore, so when I hit a hard bump, it would come flying off.

The Japanese Classic Car Show is this weekend, so I washed the SC last week and threw it under the cover to get ready for this weekend.

I didn't know where else to post these, so I'm going to dump them here. I ordered these wheels, but my friend ended up taking them.

Those Meisters look good. What were the sizes and where did you get that mirror?

Thank you. Meisters have always looked great on a slammed car, which is why I wish I got them when I had air suspension. lol

What surprised me was the front high disk 10" meister was .8 lbs lighter than my comparable high disk 10" CCW.

The rear 11.5 CCW was .6 lbs lighter than the 11" meister rear.

The gold set is:
18x9.5 +37 255/40/18 Michelin Pilot 4S

18x10.5 +37 275/35/18 Michelin Pilot 4S

I got the mirror on Amazon. It's a broadway 270mm concave mirror. It helps a lot with visibility in the blind spot. I can change lanes without having to turn my head all the way, and it's perfectly sized for the OEM mirror.

It was around $40. I think I bought it back in 2004 at Super Autobacs for $20. lol

I'd do some bad things for a set of them... You gotta love how light they are to boot. My car was originally a $3k beater and I've never wanted to put wheels on that start to push what I paid for the car originally haha. But if I ever find a set I'd have an awful hard time saying no. Always love seeing you car - it makes a little envious to look at my "10-footer" from my office haha!

If I looked at it in terms of price of parts vs my car, I would have no mods. LOL

The one thing I've learned is: There will always be cheaper alternatives, but the price of quality kind of sits around a certain level. As long as I'm not getting ripped off for the particular part or service I'm okay with paying for it because the value is there.

With all the wheels, I make sure I buy them at the right price. I usually break even or make money once I sell them since no one wants to wait a year for parts. I make sure it is always a desirable spec for supra owners.

I always tell people the same thing when they compare my car to their own, I've had this car since 2008. It took a long time to build my dream, but I had a vision and stuck with it.

JCCS was yesterday. There was rain in the forecast, but luckily it ended before the event started and resumed as we were driving home.

Warming up the car

I'm glad I don't have to look at that stupid tail light bulb anymore. lol

I was the first lexus to arrive

My friend was the 2nd lexus to arrive and they parked him next to my car. He didn't want to be under the tree since his car just got ceramic coated, so he asked to move.

Car has been put away since JCCS back in September. I needed to use the garage to test fit wheels on my GS, so SC had to be kicked outside. I'm going to drive it this week.

I told myself I wouldn't do another set of mesh wheels and choose something different for the GS, but I lied to myself. Plus the deal was too good to pass up. The wheels need some refinishing, so they won't be going on the car for a few months while we wait for parts.

Those wheels are looking tasty! I really like the forged F Sport wheels for the GS. But, you’re Mr. Custom Wheels so I expect nothing less from you! Lol
