the shop that's making my cf hood is finally making some progress. Yay!!
The have the hood vent done already.
Started to block out the hood to make the bottom side mold and mock up all the fastener points.
They mentioned the hood was flexing a bit near the back of the hood vent hole and wanted to add some honeycomb or some other resolution to stiffen it up.
Glad they're taking the initiative to do that but that means more delays...sigh

Got some Ti lugs for my track wheels.
Now I just need those Advans to show up... hoping they're in the Mackin container for this month...
I put em on my street wheels just to check it out. Think I like the iconix lugs on my Renne wheels better for looks on a day to day.
The Ti lugs are definitely lighter than the iconix and way way lighter than the oem steel ones.

Put some purple juice in the sled yesterday. Realistically I can't tell the different driving with regular dino vs the expensive purple stuff. Hopefully down the road I'll reap the rewards with less wear & tear.

Went to Atlanta motorsports park for track day today.
1st time out running square set up. 275/35/19 front & rear.
This was recommended by Rafi in hopes of reducing understeer. Yes the car pushed much less!
Running the Yokohama Advan AD08R tires. Holy cow they are leaps & bounds better than the PSS on the track.

Pic is of the oil that came out of AOS after 5x 30 minute track sessions.

No pics from on the track today but here's one from the paddock. Cars always look cooler with numbers on em...
😬😬😬

Thanks brother. The car is actually a mess now. Got rubber all over it. Always a long day of detailing after track day...

The car only slings oil during hard cornering. When I'm not at the track, the AOS collects zero, so if your driving style is just normal street cruising then no need.

Btw did you ever get the sikky headers?
I finally purchased PPE from RR. Should be here soon. Bought a battery from them as well.

I'm passing on headers and most costly mods right now......thinking about the new 911 gts. I paid cash for the RCF so the depreciation has sorta got me thinking I'll hold onto it until early next year. My summer is booked solid on travel (work), so it should go by quickly. Can't wait to hear how you like the headers...keep me updated!

Hey Will,
Car is coming along. Thanks. Waiting on the advan rims to show...
Wish I would get my cf hood soon too. You put your Varis hood on yet?
How's wedding planning? I see you got to keep all the car parts!!!

Btw the inspiration for my car build was this GT...

Got update from ZachF about my carbon hood!!!
Both top and bottom molds are almost done so they'll be laying the cf soon.
Super stoked to hear that. It's been a long wait but hopefully worth it!

Wedding is still coming along. CF parts are currently at my detailer's shop...he has a guy to do the clear and then he will PPF them...then install them and seal w/ Opticoat. All CF parts are going on finally...haha...still want coilovers, 2piece rotors, and catless headers w/ tune...maybe even talk the soon to be wife into letting install the supercharger later down the road...haha. Wish me luck!

Also, didn't originally plan to track the car but it might end up being that way. Will wait and see.

question Will, just wondering if you know. The Varis stuff has a gel coat on it. Will they remove that before clear coat or will they just scuff and spray on top?

Just scuff and add on top. I would think it would be difficult/expensive to remove all the gel coat first and don't want to damage the CF underneath.
