Totally sucks this happened man. Will you be going with low compression pistons so you can run more boost?

Really strange that all the driver's side pistons were cracked. Do you see signs of detonation?

So Isfast, have you had the opportunity to put any more miles on your newly supercharged beast?

Thanks in advance.

I have put on another 300 miles, but did not push it. I am still trying to do the compression test first. Have had no time.

Wow, Thanks for the update and pics!.................. Do you think this damage was done from the S/C on the low boost set up it comes with??

Since you're putting forged pistons, are you going with different compression? Just curious.

I'm wondering if it was a fueling issue on that side of the motor to cause these issues. It sure does look like it at least.

Did you have a wideband hooked up as well? As well as compression testing I would suggest installing one as well as I know some people will opt not to get one.

But if you are getting custom forged pistons it will be worth looking into what you can do to lower compression some

CP Pistons are offering a custom compression and size piston for the ISF. whether for Turbo, Supercharger. NA. etc etc.

and since you're already going that route with custom pistons might as well go with stronger Rods. something like these.

HAHAHA!!! My fiance complains every time UPS. Fedex delivers a big package. all she says now is "What you ordered for your car now" i'm eager to see what she's going to say when i order the NOVEL Headers. But i think she throwing in the towel with me on car parts. This is something i've been looking into since RR Racing started their SC build. I'm the type if i go Forced Induction i want more and more boost. so going low compression with good rods. the Titanium head internals the engine already has would make a good candidate for boost friendly. or if you want to just run your SC safely knowing you have good internals. Given the OP already started to rebuild his engine i'm excited to see his overhaul built on the engine and how it runs afterwards.

This looks painfully familiar. Experience is directly related to the size of your pile of broken, bent, and twisted parts.

Ummm. Yup. Cracked ring lands are a clear sign of detonation.

We all have a wideband, it's called the primary O2 sensor. Nope, this isn't lean running, it's too much ignition advance for the amount of squish the cylinder has. That the entire left bank suffered tells me the deck height on the left side is suspect. Make sure you get the deck height corrected while you are having all this machine work done or you'll be right back here pretty quickly. AMHIK.
