I’m on working on the car this weekend so I’ll get some then. I would really rather go back to the stock lines honestly. I miss the stiffer wheel at higher speeds

Default Ocv

Was driving the other day and the check engine light came on along with some rough idling and surging. Scanned the light and found out it was the VVT solenoid on bank 1. Bought both of them and replaced them.

Interesting, 3 alternators in how many yrs?. In 20 yrs as a daily driver I just replaced my 2nd alternator this week and unfortunately had my car towed for the 1st time in those 20 yrs and 300,000 miles, on Interstate 25 Santa Fe NM

Very wise decision to replace both at the same time, good insurance.

That's what I thought too since the car has 175k miles on it, I figured if one of them is dead, the other one can't be far behind.

Default Spoiler Gaskets

A few weeks ago I noticed that every time I opened the trunk after some rain, a bunch of water would dump out from under the lining. Needles to say there is only one thing that can cause that. Replacing the spoiler Gaskets was not fun. Took a long time but I finally removed the 24 year old glue. Gave the surface a little hand polish to get rid of the contact lines. Put the new seals on and reinstalled the spoiler. Hopefully it will last another 24 years

Hey V I bet you will be there in another 24 years to take care of it. Actually knowing you did your usual great job, I bet it will last longer than 24 years.
Good luck
Bill

Beautiful SC. How many miles are on the odo? What brand of ceramic coating did you use?

Thanks guys. At this stage I don't see myself ever getting rid of this car so I just might be there in 24 years, replacing the gaskets again... lol

The car has ~176k miles. In fact I'll probably be doing an oil change on it soon too. The ceramic coat I've been using is Avalon King. I've been pretty happy with it so far given the price and quality of the finish. Their 2 year estimate is only accurate if you park your car in the garage. Unfortunately at this point mine sits outside all day and only lasts about a year in the Florida sun. That being said I've heard some really good things about the Gtechiq coating so I may try that one next time. We'll see...

Last couple of days/weeks:
New tires and new sizes:
Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4: 245/40/18 Front, 255/40/18 Rear. I think this is the perfect fit with the 350z wheels. Looks practically OEM
Oil Change: Motul XClean 8100 efe with Wix filter. Been using this oil for years now, very happy with it but the price is starting to creep up. Might be going to Amsoil next time.
Reconfigured aux/BT with OEM headunit. Did away with the relay in favor of a simple 4 point On/On switch. Wired it to be inconspicuous because I like the OEM look of the interior.
Refinished headlights again. Hopefully next time I do this, I'll have the equipment for a proper clearcoat instead of the 'sealant' that comes with the kit i use
Wash so its nice and shiny again!
