It would be. I'd love to have one but yeah out of my range for now. Hence why I'm shopping around for an affordable secondary sports car for the summer instead and keep the IS for the winter

Since the BRZ/86 twins were a consideration for you, the revised 2019 ND Miata with the new 2.0L engine (higher RPM limit and horsepower output than the previous version) would be an excellent roadster to own (though interior space is very limited).

It's in the consideration

Default The end.

Hey CL,

Thanks to everyone who's been following my build for so long. I finally pulled the trigger on the next ride over the weekend.

Got myself a 2010 Nissan 370Z Touring 6MT. I'm still keeping the Lexus as a daily, but in terms of mods, the build is basically done and now it'll just be maintenance. I've always liked Z cars even with all the mediocre reviews of it being old, plus it gives me a chance to finally learn to drive stick.

Very nice build thread!

Like how you treated the car right... Not many people do that these days...

I think the 370Z is great car... Personally I like the GT-R but I would assume it would have been outta budget for ya.

Enjoy both rides, you've done well.

Thanks man! It's def quite a bit quicker and more engaging to drive. I already loved revving to 7200 rpm on the IS, so the 7500 rpm limit is even more fun esp now that I have to row my own gears. I know some people have walked 370z's in their IS350s iirc, but I'm still in love with it. Just got myself a new set of Indy 500's and tried a light second gear pull and I could feel the rear coming out a bit, prob the new compound combined with the low single digit temps we still have.

Thanks a lot LStoneX!

Keeping the car reliable and daily driveable were def high priorities in my build. My build vision has always been to try to keep it clean, subtle, and tasteful.

These days the community is starting to get flooded with the straight piped IS250 builds hahaha. I can only guess where it goes from here.

I love both cars. Def both adorned my virtual racing game garages in Need for Speed and Gran Turismo. Given my budget, yes I could only afford the 370z, but maybe one day in the future a GTR could be a thing. I'd love to test drive one one day, but for now I'm content with my Z.

car started to vibrate under medium to hard acceleration so I decided to take off my wheels to check the area out. Looks like my CV axle is toast, with my passenger side going soon as well. I'm probably going to cheap out and switch from my Michelin PSS's to firestone indy 500s like i have on my 370z. I can't believe the inner tire wear problem came back. I know these tires had some edge wear from prior to the bushings but I'm surprised it still showed up this severely. Maybe the pot holes put my alignment out of spec again

We are looking at the front of the 2IS? We used to call tires like that "May-Pops" for there potential impact and subsequent tire change! Yikes!
How is the Z holding up otherwise? Fun fun???

Yeah it's my IS. Going to get some new tires, going to switch the fronts to Indy 500s and eventually change the rears to Indy's as well when they wear down.

The Z is fun. Really like driving manual and it;s nice to somewhat be able to keep up with my friends now. Modding it very slowly, put an exhaust on it, cleaned up the exterior and changed some badges etc. More to come next year

replaced driver front CV axle, with the passenger side coming up soon. Toyota and their CV axles man... I'm not even lowered that much. Anyways replaced my front tires with Indy 500s. I read that my PSS's don't have great wear rates on the shoulders which is the area we have the most problems with, so I'm going to see how these do. I do realize I'm a pace slower with them on as the PSS's really instilled a lot of confidence that I could just throw it into a corner and be ok.

How hard are the axles to remove? Also what brand did you use? Reading over some threads. I've seen where people are having a hard time getting them off. My front driver has a tear on the boot. There is grease everywhere. Im not sure how long it will last. It probably happened within 2 weeks ago.

When I was watching them do it it looked really easy to remove. They undid the axle nut and just pulled it out. Putting it back in they were having some problems because of a C clip or something like that, I didn't get the full details because I don't like staring down their necks all the time sorry. I think the brand was "feq"? I was having a bunch of vibrations under acceleration so I figured it was the cv axle again, but it might be a little worse... and be the drive shaft wobbling around
