Couple of quick shots I took while there was a little day light left. I love the way they look. Fitment is 8/10, the weather stripping is kinda eh and doesn't sit perfectly flush but good enough. Quality is about 8/10 or 7/10, overall construction is nice but im not sure because it's a clear lens that I can see the white glue holding the light together (maybe the sealant glue?) around the edges. I'll upload a pic of it later, if anyone can confirm whether it's standard or not.
Not a mod but a much needed fix. 2 years of owning this car with a dysfunctional trunk I've had enough and ordered some new struts. Works like a charm now.

It took me 8 years to fix mine...I didn't even know it was an issue just thought after I installed my OEM spoiler that it just made my trunk heavier and causing it to slam. I bought $26 Amazon ones, they didn't have the OEM still clip on the inside portion, so I had to use some $0.25 "e-clips" from Ace Hardware to keep them in the shaft.

Yeah same! It was only after a couple of friends and family complaining that I thought it was in need of repair. It was def 500% harder to open than my mom's MB CLA250's trunk which I could open with a finger. While the new struts make it easier, it's still a relatively heavy trunk... had the latch portion hit the back of my head on one or two occasions, not fun
Morimoto M-LED Projectors Spec D Retrofit complete!
In my opinion they look amazing and the output is blowing me away, at least compared to my previous halogen or led bulb setups. Might have to adjust the height a little lower but it'll be fixed when I put it back on coilovers in the summer anyways. Didn't do the chip flip mod because it didn't seem to seat properly when flipped compared to stock so I left it. People complain about the width but I think it's good, pictures don't really do it justice, I'll try using my Sony later
Those look nice! I didn’t realize the ‘M’ is projected on the ground, but it’s a neat little feature. What’s the color temp of them? 6000k?
Also just out of curiousity, do the new trunk struts open your trunk without needing to assist it with your hands or after pushing the release button do you have to pull the trunk lid up still... thanks

Yeah there's a cutout of an M inside the projector itself for the logo but it can be covered up if one really wanted to. You're close, apparently it's rated at 5900k.
The new struts are decent but still require you to lift the trunk about past the 60 degree point before it does the rest
Just remembered to upload my new sound clip. The exhaust is back to being nice and quiet at low RPM but keeping that straight through sound >4k RPM. Def suits my taste more.
I finally just pulled the trigger today on the Tanabe. Did you feel any torque gains on low RPMs? How about Top End? Also I heard there's some weight reduction over OEM. If so about how much?

It felt a tiny bit quicker because of the sound but looking back I think it stays about the same. I didn't expect too much from the catback but it should be about a 10 hp gain. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-and-pics.html - IS350 pace car with no other power mods other than the Tanabe with a stated 316 hp. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to weigh the exhaust but it'll be blatantly obvious that it's significantly lighter than the OEM when you take off the oem axleback. (it fell on my chest when I took it off which was a funny experience, doesn't help that it's only one piece versus the Tanabe which has the left and right side as separates).
I'll update you in terms of the weight of the Tanabe if I ever take it off before you get yours... future plans in the works
Spring is almost here. Got a couple parts ordered and coming in to be installed this week or so. Looking to finish this build up this year with a couple small things
