Sharing stupid stuff.
Took a new hire to lunch today which placed 3 BMW owners in the 2IS.
3 of the 4 doors were slammed like one might do when things don't close properly... after cringing, I had to chuckle. Poor car.
The way these doors close when barely in motion is how all cars should be!

Fob died, new battery no puddle lights or door opening
The car was reporting the fob battery was low battery occasionally, so I replaced it. I've replaced it before with no impact to anything. This time was different.
If and when you replace the battery and if your puddle lights and door touch handle fail to work, the simple fix is this:
With the car off and door shut, press the rubber door lock button to lock to lock the car.
Problem solved. Puddle lights and unlock via touch restored.

AC in the Tundra is back online. Total cost was roughly $500 in parts and about 12 hours in labor to flush everything clean and install new lines, vacuum it doen for three hours, fill it up. There wasn't any obvious shrapnel at the discharge. It just blew up and locked itself up.
Those guys could have made that job a lot easier. At least it's done so I can return to 350 diff.
The ring gear install requires 10 new torque to yield bolts and red loctite. Spec is 47ft/lbs, then rotate 60 to 90°.
Manual says to boil the ring gear in your favorite broth for an hour to allow it to slip over the carrier housing.
I'll see if I can get the bearings on, and ring installed. It'll be harder to hold than the open diff that came out as it has no flat spots!
These bolts: 90105-12219 pack of 10.

I received some free money from work for being a good engineer. I spent it on this.
Sadly it was closer before it went to TX.
It does seem more lively not being all choked up at the inlet. It also rev's quicker, and if tires break free, well they stay free longer. This version includes the lower box which does indeed sound nice when opened up to 7k!
Unfortunately a 10mm Snap-On 1/4" drive and extension dropped from my ratchet screwdriver and I couldn't it in the pan. Next oil change isn't far out, we'll see if it hangs around!

What whaaat whaaaaa??? Imwah? Haha!
Nope! Never found / lost a crank pulley or torque wrench. There was the 1MZ-FE battle to remove the crank bolt. That was a fight and tools were broke but I won. Eventually! Maybe that's the story? Timing belt change.

Well here's a good one. Got a $20K bonus from my employer in December. Want to know what I actually took home? $13K. I put in Tesla stock and it jumped more than $200 a share, but is pretty much back to where it was in when I bought it
