Default leg3endary IS350 F-Sport Build Thread

What's up guys. This is the first time I've ever modded / built a car. I've always been a gear-head and I have done light modifications such as intake, cabin lights, suspension etc. This past week I bit the bullet on a bunch of mods and am pretty excited with installing them and seeing the result. I am interested in adding serious power over time. For now, I purchased an ECU tune from RR-Racing, carbon fiber intake and a full catback Ark Grip exhaust system.

I ran a baseline dyno off of a Mustang system. My HP range after 3 runs was 257 to 261 stock (315 at the crank, top end, higher than advertised).

My exhaust comes in tomorrow and I'll be bolting it on tomorrow evening. I'm hoping for a 40 whp increase (crosses-fingers), but we'll see..If I can get 40 whp, I will be happy for the time being, but I know I am going to want to add an S/C kit, upgrade the braking system, coil-overs, camber-kit, lightweight wheels. Eventually, it will be gutted out with a roll-cage and be reserved for mostly permanent track duty (not for a while though)..

This is pretty exciting for me and I look forward to sharing the progress.

Sweet, RR stuff is already there. Throw them on and you'll have the exhaust tomorrow!

So. the moment ya'll been waiting for.

I dyno'd my car yesterday at KP Racing in Houston. It was on a Mustang dyno. My baseline HP was 261, per the post written above...Well, after a week of driving, smashing and generally having fun, I ran the dyno again and I could not believe the results.

Drum Rollll.....

The new WHP numbers went up to 299!! Torque numbers went up to 260! The mods done to the car gained me 40WHP! I was expecting 20WHP at best! I was floored by the results. Shout out to Simon from RR Racing and Josh from Merkai Autoworks for hooking me up. This is easily the best money you can spend for significant HP gains on your 3IS, if you so chose...

Next on my list of mods is a Sigma Lambda Controller by 14Point 7, the USSR bushing from RR Racing and PPE headers. Once I've got the bushings, I will track it and embarrass some Bimmers...

Yes, it is a bit droney, but for 40WHP for 2 grand and some drone is an unbeatable deal....this thing is NA tuned!

Thanks!! I'm pretty stoked about this gain. The butt dyno definitely underestimated the power output by a wide margin loll

Have you tested the 0-60 with this tune/setup?

The power delivery is way smoother, the shifts are more aggressive and deliberate, no need to even come close to the 7200 RPM redline, it chirps from first to second when WOT. No codes, issues or anything related to that. The car off the production floor is frustratingly under-tuned. This is easily the best $550 you can spend if you want to add power to your car without making any mechanical modifications to sustain it. The guys at RR-Racing know what they're doing.

I have not, but it will be much quicker considering I went from 261 to 300 from exhaust and a tune. If I were to guess, I'd say between 4.5 and 5 seconds with a good launch and traction control off.

Thanks for the feedback, those are very good dyno numbers for a Mustang Dyno, which tend to read lower that others.

Very awesome feedback. Definitely puts the tune on my short list of things to get done ASAP.
