I would do a leakdown test on the engine to see how well the rings are sealing. This result from the catchcan doesn't sound like a happy engine.

My catch can doesn’t catch anything. I have never found fluid in it.

would the leak down test be the same as a compression check? I have been wanting to do that

mine only does when I go to the track never when just driving normal, even when doing pulls on the street no fluid only when doing hard cornering

Improved my buttonwillow lap time from 2:11 to 2:05.04 only difference was 18s square set up with nankang AR-1 also, cooling upgrades worked great and so did the AOS with AN fittings no more CEL for air leak

Which specific fittings did you use? The above convo has me a little worried about air leaks, might as well bite the bullet and follow your lead. Thanks in advance!

I went with red horse performance AN fittings, one of the guys on Facebook helped me with this one. These are the list of part numbers I used 👍🏼

No. Compression tests can lie about things. Leakdown doesn't lie and tells you if your valves are good/bad or rings good/bad or both. Compression tests are not what you want for a performance engine. A leakdown test puts the piston near TDC, then puts air pressure in the cylinder and allows you to listen for leakage. You'll hear ring leakage through the oil fill, and you'll hear valve leakage in either the intake (not so likely), or the exhaust (a LOT more likely). You can also get a percentage measurement which tells you overall how well the cylinder is sealing so you can make the right decision about needing just valves or just rings or both.
