the list of work still to do looks as follows
  • Install rear coil over damper adjuster extensions through the rear parcel shelf
  • experiment with and set final dampening settings (currently half way between soft and hard)
  • One parking sensor is broken so i need to find out which one and replace.
  • One headlight washer is glued in place
  • Some front bumper clips are missing
  • rear taillight is cracked - find replacement
  • new rims and tyres once the current ones are worn out.

First picture is the piece that is missing on the bumper. I would like to be able to find those here.

OK thanks, I have seen that ad here in Perth, only 150km from me and that car is my colour but it seems to be missing the piece on one side as well!

Do you happen to know how I can reach the owner of this wrecked LS430 by email or whatsapp so that I can get from him a spare part from the panel? Thanks.

Default ceramic coating and ramps

Minor update, had the car detailed with a 2 stage correction and ceramic coating done this week, looking good! except for the bonnet where sun damage was too much to be detailed out so it will need a respray later.

Also purchased some lowered ramps for when i am working on the car as i was having serious struggles getting the car jacked up. up on these ramps i can get the trolley jack under easy!

Well I had my first failure last night, went to pick up some dinner and was waiting outside the restaurant with the headlights on and engine off for about 5 minutes...battery was flat after that. I was getting suspicious as I was having the occasional slow start but still happy that my first failure was an unknown age and condition battery that came with the car. More homage to the legendary reliability!

Centre caps for wheels arrived and they fit perfectly. i will get some pics of them on when the wheels are clean again.

Also installed a battery 'insulator' which was missing, ordered from amayama. hopefully to give my new battery the best chance to last long

and new door speakers installed all round. Audison AP6.5 in 2ohm front and 4ohm rear.

Minor job done this weekend, parking sensors had an error since I have owned it so i never used them, the error was showing on the right front corner so I chanced my arm with some super cheap Chinese copies https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...25f14c4djegzmD . I ordered two of these just in case both on that corner were broken.

Took the inner finder off and there was easy access.

low and behold the first one i took out was broken. pictured here next to the replacement

Installed and the system is working perfectly now! and I have a spare sensor to boot in case I have another issue.

I had a muffler delete done recently, replaced with 2.5inch pipe from the factory resonators back. Pictures to come when the whole job is complete but I was experiencing some drone @ 1800-1900 RPM under acceleration so after reading on here about helmholtz resonators i decided to go down this route.

Using a free app on my phone I determined my peak db frequency was 117hz so I will build the resonators around this.

The design is a 5 inch chamber with a 2 inch neck to target 117hz @ 100 degrees f.

So far I have cut out the materials and it just needs welding and installing now which is booked for friday.

The connector to the chamber is a 90mm 2 inch slip join to allow the neck length to be adjustable, then I can tune the system if required.

Credit to @mavisky for the inspiration here

Resonators were installed today and make a sure difference! definitely eliminates any harsh drone however does reduce the overall volume under normal suburbs driving, but still enough noise under moderate acceleration

You can see the resonator chambers are adjustable neck length in case they need adjusting but the first try has come up pretty good.

I found a local LS430 that someone was wrecking so I grabbed a few parts to fix some minor things

My engine cover was cracked/broken missing the lower left hand portion so that was replaced.

One rear tail light was cracked so I replaced that too

Mine never came with an owners book so I grabbed those.

And one of the headlight sprayers had been smashed off at some point and some random cover glued over it crappily, you can see the general damage to the bumper.

Before

After

This is one step towards getting the bumper re-painted

I also grabbed a the rear bumper as mine is damaged from what I assume is the same hit that cracked the rear taillight, when the time comes I will get the front a rear painted together.
