Default RC-F Track Edition in Sweden

Hello everybody,

My name is Linus, I'm 43 years old, and I'm from Sweden. I work at a Lexus and Toyota dealership, and I have a RC-F Track Edition... It's the only one in Sweden, and one of 10 in Europe. I got it in November. Today it has 651 km (404 miles) on the odometer.

I've done some mods from the beginning. This is what I've done so far:

* Full PPE elite series exhaust with EL headers, no cats and no resonators. No valves for silent choice. Pretty loud 😳
* FIGS-Öhlins R&T coilovers track spec, with true rear coilover conversion.
* FIGS Front LCA rear mount precision billet bearing, track duty.
* FIGS RC-F track spec front upper control arm with camber adjust.
* AFE dry intake airfilter for oem filter house.
* HPS black silicone intake hose kit.
* APEX SM-10 wheels (11x19 ET 54) front and rear.
* Toyo R888R 295/30-19 front and rear.
* 15mm spacers front and rear.
* OMP WRC-R Carbon seat on driver side (not installed yet).
* Rear seat delete.

I don't daily drive it, just have it for track days. I like it a lot 😊 Please feel free to ask me anything you want to know more about 👍

Some pics.

You got a lot of great details over there already. What kind of tires are those? Updates on the thread would be great as it further evolves. If you have any track videos, that would be great to see.

The tires are just R888R... not my favourite R-compound tire, but there was some issues with Pirelli when I wanted to order them back in December, so after a lot of waiting and searching, I decided to go for the Toyos for now. From the beginning I wanted Pirelli Trofeo R. But the next set will be Nankang AR-1 in 305/30 dimension. Don't know if you have those over there?

I have heard of the R888R and the Trofeo R, but not the Nankang AR-1. I don't believe they sell them here in North America. I briefly considered Cup 2 for my RCF, but then ended up getting PS4S (XL) since I don;t take mine to the track. Great to see you really making it a hardcore track car of the track edition. Will be watching the progress closely in this thread.

Amazing pics and parts! Is the PPE exhaust much heavier than the factory titanium exhaust? Is the factory exhaust full titanium or just the rear section?

Thank you very much 😊
Your question about the weight difference between the PPE and the stock titanium exhaust, is very interesting. I've taken the time to weigh every part that I've replaced bit by bit, so I can keep track of what's happening to the car in the end. When it comes to the exhaust it gets really interesting... To begin with the titanium parts are ONLY the axle back section, not cat back as many seems to believe. But OMG it is lightweight! I don't have the exact figures here right now, but if I remember correctly the oem TI was like 3kg per side section, and the PPE was like 9,5 kg... The other thing that was quite surprising, was that the EL headers were heavier than the oem cat-headers, almost double the weight. Of course there is a lot of stainless material in the PPE EL headers, so maybe not that strange. But in total the PPE was 8kg heavier than the oem. That is 17,6 pounds for you guys 😉

Pretty much every thing I've changed or replaced on the car has added weight, like the exhaust and the wider wheels. But the Öhlins coilovers were actually lighter by 3,4kg. The interior rip has a total weight saving of 29kg, so that makes some difference 👍

Thanks 👍 I have to be honest and say that you and your car are the inspiration for me, and the reason I bought mine 😊 So I'm a bit starstruck right now that you've left me a comment...

I'm waiting for the seat rail to arrive before I can mount the OMP-seat. Long story short... From the beginning I wanted to order a Bride Zieg 3 carbon seat in red. But after 2 months of waiting for it to come, I was told that Bride stopped making them. Then I went for plan b, which was a Recaro Profi SP-A kevlar seat. I ordered one and waited for about six weeks when I found out that Recaro had stopped making them as well... This was a very tuff thing for me since there was only these two options that were going to be accepted by me, either the Bride or the Recaro. So after this backdrop I went for the OMP-seat. I know that Gazoo Racing use OMP-seats in the GT4 Supras, so it feels quite okay but not great. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to details 😊

Thank you!
OMP makes great seats, I'm sure you'll love it. I almost bought a set of used Porsche GT3RS carbon seats but couldn't justify the cost if I were going to have the embroidery removed anyway. Does the Track Edition already come with lithium battery?
Keep up the great work!

Thank You Ron! I'm also sure I will be satisfied with the OMP-seat. I actually have the greatest of respect for OMP, but it all comes down to what kind of car you have... If I would have a Ferrari or Lamborghini, I wouldn't hesitate a second for having OMP-seats. But for a JDM-car I think there is only Bride or Recaro that will fit the JDM-image 😉 But that is only my personal opinion, and I'm totally open for other options. Ron, your STATUS seat is absolutely amazing! I really like the way it looks, and the kevlar weawe is so nice! These seats are not available here in Sweden, which is a shame.
The battery is the same as in any other RC-F, but I will order a lithium battery in the future, it's a must 👍
