How do the snap rings change the backlash? Feel free to speak to me as if I were a 5 year old. I thought that generally, the OSGs don’t need adjustments.

They have different thicknesses snap rings, in .02mm increments. Basically increase the ring gear side snap ring thickness by the same amount you decrease the thickness of the opposite side snap ring (moves the ring gear closer to the pinion gear to decrease backlash) provided that the total preload is in spec. Otherwise, you can play with the thickness of one snap ring to increase/decrease preload. The OS giken generally doesn’t need adjustments as long as you’re using the same housing your gears came out of. I’m using a new housing so it threw off some of the clearances.

When you think about the load being put on those snap rings, it's pretty obvious why they are so incredibly stout.

Deleted the headlight washers and decided to get a new bumper cover without the holes, for a much cleaner look.

The seats in my car are more valuable than my living room couches, so I know the feeling. You have my exact seats, but mine have a custom cover for a Porsche. Excellent choice. You won’t be disappointed. You putting them
in soon?

True! I can’t wait to install them, I have a pair of Sparco bases but I’m patiently waiting for a pair of @FIGS ones

Got a SmartTap CF18 relay from Diode Dynamics. Any tips on installation?
There are some photos here, but no details on removing lower dash panel for access.

IIRC, I only removed the lower panel held by the two self tapping screws. Then I just stuck my head in the footwell, while on my back! 😂

Shrink your hands to half size. It will make the whole thing a LOT easier.

I yearned for this ability so many times in my life while working on a car. I’d ALMOST consider it a superpower.
