September 2021 - new Hawk DTC60 pads, front bumper and Vland headlights, plus a Mid Ohio track day

Another track day update...
Headed back to Mid Ohio with a couple ISFs and RCFs this time. Weather was perfect. Ran the 1st 2 sessions on Winmax w6 pads and then switched to Hawk DTC60 pads. Shoutout to RR Racing for securing those so quickly since w6 were out of stock. I did a pad inspection a week before and realized the fronts wouldn't last a whole day. The DTC60 did really well despite having slightly less initial bite than the w6 pads. One of the sessions I almost got fuel starvation as my fuel light came on, pulled off track only to watch the gauge go back up to half full. Odd.
Set a new PB by a whole 0.04 seconds. I have a pic comparing the 2 most recent PB, one from June with 12k rear springs and nannies off (1st time) and most recently from Sept with 16k rear springs and nannies back on. I'm done tracking until 2022, so swapped back to street pads and all seasons for the snow. Hoping to do ViR next year with a group of F cars. Let me know if you might be interested.
P.S. So far my code issues went away. Fingers crossed. Also replaced the front bumper and headlights as they were pretty much toast.
Highlight reel:

Hey man - I was going back and forth with you on the Facebook group on track wheel setups. I came across this thread looking around this morning. I had skimmed through it prior but I just went through it again and I love what you've done with the car! Good job on it!

Great thread just went through all of it. I plan on tracking my new to me 12 ISF and a lot of helpful info here. Looks like an oil cooler atleast will be in my future.

Thanks! Yep, oil cooler is a must or else you can't run 100% at the track.

Without hitting 275F oil temps. AMHIK. After seeing illwillem's datalogging in action, I'm concerned about oil pressure now too.

I saw that, but haven’t seen any oil starvation damage on even high mileage ISFs tracking. They may survive with relatively low pressure, which I have also seen in the LSX series engines as well.

Rotor refresh
It was a nice day, so I started to prep the car for the first track day of 2022 in a few weeks.

Installed RR Girodisc 2 piece slotted rotors on the rear. Just for kicks I weighed a few things during the install.

OEM Brembo front (min thickness) - 25lbs
Girodisc front - 21.5
Girodisc rear (new) - 17.6 lbs
OEM Brembo rear (min thickness) - 20 lbs

OEM front wheel with 245/30-19 DWS06 - 47.6 lbs
OEM rear wheel with 275/35-19 DWS06 - 51.0 lbs
Enkei PF01 18X9.5 +45 front wheel with 275/35-18 worn RE-71R tires - 44.6

While not scientific, I figure I shaved roughly 6-12 lbs each in rotational weight each wheel.

Took some pics as well. Front Girodisc brakes look pretty worn with microcracks. Both Rafi and my shop suggested replacing to be safe. So got new rings from RR. Swapping the rings was very straight forward. Only issues was that Girodisc mislabeled them (right vs left), and when I tried torquing the bolts at the recommended 60lbs, I snapped one. So went with 2 uggas lol.

Castrol SRF brake fluid swap also done, and tires (had to go to RT660) are still 2 months away from delivery. I've also got some carbon fiber goodies on the way.

First track day of 2022 is April 9 at Putnam.

Sounds like a calibration on the torque wrench might be a good idea.

How many days were you getting out of oem rotors? I love the idea of losing another 5-6 pounds per corner, but I always hesitate when I think of the cost of the rings. If they substantially outlast oem, there is at least more of a return.

Did you notice any performance gains by using them?

How did your stiffer springs do to both your street and track driving?

I got about 60k and no track days out of my first OEM set, 30k and 5-6 track days out of the 2nd set. My main reason for swapping to the Girodisc was that I didn't want to have to keep checking the microcracks on the OEM. Plus as I have gotten faster, that risk grows. Weight savings is nice, but I am in the camp that driver mod is much more important. Some of my fastest times have been with a passenger lol.
fyi - I'll be at Putnam April 9 with 10/10ths if you want to swing by.

CF Hood and Engine Cover
So did a thing this weekend...
I installed a custom full carbon fiber vented hood from JMA Racing. Took about 3 months to arrive. I absolutely love the design and quality of this hood. I needed serious ventilation since I keep burning thru o2 sensors on the track ever since I put on the full chassis mounted splitter. Overall quality is a 10/10 and fitment is a 9/10. Main fitment issue was that the precut latch holes don't exactly match up with where the hood pins go. So some extra drilling and manipulation was needed to align the pins.

Also, they didn't precut holes for the washer hoses and nozzles, so I had some additional cutting to do. They claimed they don't precut even though another buyer received his precut without asking.

i also got out the scale. OEM hood is 27 lbs and this one is 13 lbs.

Then I also added a custom cfDNA carbon fiber engine cover I bought BNIB off of Clublexus marketplace from @predacon47

I'm not a cosmetic mod guy but I must say I love the look and the function!
