Trackday at Collie Motorplex - 2.5hours drive from Perth Western Australia

Its a private track sessions with my mates - M3 / M5 / DC5S / DC5R / FD2R / FK8 / EVO 4 / EVO 9 / Toyota Mark X etc.

Awesome track, smooth surface but really harsh on the brakes - EBC Yellow 800deg pads with braided lines and Motul high temp brake fluid couldn't cope - Looking to upgrade to a proper 6pot BBK

OS Giken lsd performed great, great combination with the AD08R, ability to power out mid through the corner

very cool build! equally cool to have friends to share in the track day fun.

how did you know the brakes were inadequate? mushy feeling? not stopping after awhile? maybe try a pad change first before going 6-pots.

Thank you for the kind words!

Yes brake change might be an option - any recommendations on daily/track dual purpose brake pads?

Endless MX72+ or CCRG seems to be the common pick here among my mates.

Lowered the car 2 weeks later with Tein Street Advance Z coilovers, disappointed in how soft n floaty the car feels:

Focusing on the handling, I had replaced the Tein Street Advance Z with HKS Hipermax 4 GT – Night and day difference!

Also added:

Hardrace front sway bar
Cusco rear sway bar
Hardrace LCA Bushings
Hardrace front camber arm
RR racing front strut bar
Megan Racing front H bar
Megan Racing rear subframe bar

For the brakes department - EBC Yellow pads front and rear . DBA T2 rotors , Stoptech braided brake lines :

Hi mate. Great thread. I’m looking at entering the IS350 game. Not much info here in NZ. Was wondering. I have the chance at buying an IS350 version S 2010 model. I’m trying to get my head around the versions. What’s the differance between an S version and an F Sport. The dealer says the S version has uprated brakes and suspension but I’m not sure. Cheers buddy.

I've had a 2008 IS350 for almost 2 years now. I have also never heard of an "S" model. I assume that is the base, in which the "F-Sport" is the superior. They come with upgraded suspension as the main upgrades compared to the base. It sounds like whoever is trying to sell you this was trying to get it out. Eitherway, the "IS" models and absolutely incredible, and reliable daily drivers. Mine has almost 200,000 miles and still runs like new with basic upkeep. Good luck to you!

Hi there, S version should be just the regular version - We did not have that in Australia. Fsport will have "sportier" shocks and springs, fsport lip, fsport wheels and more supportive fsport seats.

You should come out to some of the Perth Lexus meets. Here was a recent one that a few people pulled out of due to a few spots of rain:

How did the Dixcel hardware hold up? I am looking for a more heat tolerant street brake setup that retains good bite and brake torque but won't overheat and deposit unevenly on the rotors for my GS350 AWD, which has very similar brakes. I do a lot of backroad/mountain driving and am fairly hard on brakes. With OEM pads and rotors, without fail, I end up with brake judder within 5,000 miles.

Thanks.
