Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Build looks good and I too am planning on doing a rear diff swap on my 3GSh in the future. When you say it doesn't run anything like a stock 460, are you saying grip, torque, etc improvements?

Thanks

Handling and ride is much more modern feeling. Feels more like a 4gs in sport +. I do expect a good bit of torque increase going to the 3.76.

Few updates. Finally got the headers on. Unfortunately the abs pump has finally started dying. And my wheel speed sensor harnesses upfront have failed. So got those parts waiting for me to replace them. But here's the pics of the headers! Definitely made the car louder. Though actually slightly decreased the drone. Power delivery feels smoother and more powerful. And the sound is definitely more aggressive. The exhaust pulses are more defined. And overall she feels much better. I will say this setup is pretty aggressive. So if you don't like hearing the exhaust I wouldn't advise this exact setup. But if you love hearing the exhaust this is definitely a good way to go!

Im actually going to try to replace just the actual pump assembly. If it works it saved me a ton of cash. If it didnt Im out 200 bucks. But the codes Im getting point more to the pump failing than the assembly. So worth a shot.

Small update. Did the IS steering wheel retrofit. Much happier with how this feels as I was never a fan of the wood steering wheel.

I've always really liked that body style, what differences did you notice with the TCM swap?

Nice build!!

It is definitely a build thread. You are doing a fantastic job on the GS460!
I was about to comment about the interior color until I saw the new black panels and steering wheel, car looks thousand times better. Ceramic coating the headers helps a lot on keeping the temps down.
And, still trying to see if I really like the blue calipers, for some reason reminds me of a Focus ST.
Just hope you do not make it ridiculously ricer loud.

I do agree having them ceramic coated helps with heat. However under hood temps actually seem improved from removing the stock manifolds and going to the headers. Its a bit loud. Though thankfully its a V8 so it mostly avoids the ricer part. Most seem to think it sounds like the older V8 m3. Which Im not sure how I feel about that. lol
As far as the comment on the blue calipers. Ive never seen a Focus ST with oem blue calipers. Seen plenty of people do Orange red and green though. Then again Ive been doing my calipers various shades of blue for nearly a decade. Starting with a Porsche cobalt blue on my Mustang. Then ultra sonic blue on my IS. And here Lamborghini Monterey Blue slightly modified.

Few updates. Ive been spending time on the other 2 cars. So this one hasnt really been getting much love as of recently. For those curious about those heres a few pics. For those not scroll onto the few small updates on the Lexus. The interior is starting to go back together. Started adding some sound deadening to the interior as well as applying felt to any possible rattle points. Had the LC500 start button left over from my IS so figured id toss that in as its a nice way of making the interior feel a bit newer. And kind of goes with the RC mirror as well. The shifter will likely get the manual shift rewired to the opposite of what it does now. The paddle shifters are also wired in and working properly. She currently still has a ton of new parts waiting to go on. And then will probably be put up for sale as I just dont drive it much.

Just some progress shots. Been busy so haven't really been pushing much on this car. Still have to finish a few of the door panel inserts. Just a few touchups and the seats will finally be done.

Nice to see a full color swap coming together. At some point I'll send her out to get the A,b,c, and headliner redone in black.

But it's nice to have a slightly different 460.

Forgot to post a pic of 1 of the prepped 4GS seats. Just waiting on a wiring harness for it.

Well guys hate to say it,

But it looks like shes going to be totaled out. Estimates are 7500-9100 in damage. So shes probably going to the junkyard.
