Default Traded a 3IS for a 3GS460!?!? (Build Thread kinda?)

So I decided I wanted a bigger car. Ended up remembering the GS460. So started a search for one. 3 months later found 1 a state away in Chattanooga. Not sure if a fellow enthusiast had it or not. But it had some nice service records and a brand new Lexus battery. Carvana offered me pretty much what I paid for my 3IS. So figured no car payment and a better sounding bigger car? Lets do it!

Ended up with this 2008 GS460. So heres her progress over the first month and a half. So far Im loving her. She has a few slight issues that I will end up taking care of. But actually love it more than my 3IS.

Mods so far:

Phillips XV2 D4S bulbs
OEM JDM Metal pedals
ISF transmission computer
Led's wherever possible
RCF rearview mirror
PPE longtube headers (awaiting install)
Bilstein B6 ISF struts
Tanabe NF210 Springs
F sport Swaybars
RCF Control Arm bushings
Figs adjustable swaybar endlinks
Figs Mega braces
Akebono Ultra premium pads F/R
WeatherTech Mats
XForce ISF X pipe catback (didnt use the mufflers)
Takeda Mufflers
Interior color swap (in process)
Dark wood accent swap
IS steering wheel retrofit with paddle shifters
Kicker Comp C sub (in oem location)
Grom Vline2
3.76 rear (pending install)
Morimoto MLed 2.0 projectors (pending install)
New headlight lenses (pending install)
Sound deadening Rear deck/Trunk (So far)
78Works taillights (On order)
4GS seats (waiting on wiring harness)

Maintenance :
Front Wheel speed sensor harnesses L/R
Passenger side primary o2
Secondary rear o2
Rotors F/R (Coated)
Rear Calipers
Strut mounts F/R
cabin filter
Pcv
Pcv hoses
Serpentine belt
Spark plugs
D/I Pump seals
Valve cover seals
Valley Gasket
BG oil flush
Abs module
Abs pump
Brake fluid flush (Motul 5.1 fluid)
Upper front control arms

Rear suspension links (not installed)
Driveshaft coupler
Driveshaft carrier bearing

Have a set of 19s Im going to toss on in the next week or so (19x8.5 +35 / 19x9.5 +35 )
This isnt going to be a crazy build. Just a daily.

Bye bye factory mufflers!

Looks better already!

Sadly my HRE's are the wrong offset.

Guess Ill use the reps and just repaint them in a custom color.

RCF LCA bushings

Whoever did this just slapped some stickers on..

Lol ill probably finish the rear brakes and swaybar tomorrow (been lazy) then ill start bedding in the brakes and see how the car feels. Then something to help that sloppy shifting and those freeway gears!

I guess you've looked into ECU mods (ls460 engine ecu into gs460, is-f transmission ecu shenanigans, etc, etc).

Pretty much the idea is to go with the ISF tcm and probably go Mforce for the tune since sector 6 is no longer around. Beyond that at some point ill add the ppe headers. And ill end up swapping her over to the 3.76 rear end. Granted id love to go further. But that might be a stopping point for her performance wise.

Finally decided to paint the wheels and toss them on. Why I didnt do this sooner? I dont.... actually I know I was just lazy lol. But happy with how it looks. Waiting for the springs to settle. She still has hardly any miles on her at all since I installed the springs (been driving the other car more).

Well finally decided to try an ISF intake on the 460. A CL member had a good deal on an injen intake. Not too bad of a fit. Needed some tweaking and lengthening of a hose. Will end up paint matching it at some point. For now it's awesome to actually be able to hear the engine and not just the exhaust!

Nice 460 first and foremost. I like the direction you're going with your build. I see you used a RC-F LCA bushing, this caught my eye because I was in the market for one from ****** so and so...but I have not had good interactions with some of the people at so and so but I know they make good quality products. I won't mention their name because it's not worth it plus I don't want to get banned. Did you notice a difference with the RC-F bushing and have you spoke to owners with the other types of bushings they're running? Thanks in advance!

Honestly I know theres other options out there. I didnt want to start getting into the more aggressive bushings as I wanted to keep the lexus feel but just kind of do an oem plus style upgrade. I didnt really talk to any other owners about doing this particular mod. As I had come over from a 3IS and its a popular upgrade for them. Now I did feel a nice difference. Though my bushings also had 156k on them so take that as you will.

Few small updates.

Added a Grom. And also added the Xforce catback (minus the xforce mufflers).

Also not pictured I did swap to a 2010 IS-F tcm.

A few more upgrades/update.

The jdm pedals (stupid simple upgrade), Bilstein B6 struts for an ISF, new upper control arms, new ***** joints, new strut mount, new figs adjustable endlinks, and obviously from previously the Fsport swaybars.

Absolutely love this combo. The car feels eager to handle and turn. Definitely doesnt feel like a 4k lb luxo barge. It feels more eager than my mustang did!

Also added the RR-Racing oil separator. Took a bit of minor tweaking but fits. Will adjust it later to be a bit cleaner.
