I don't think so.

The SC section on CL is the best site on SC's as far as I know.

hey guys.

i'm reviving an old thread over here...

any GTA people still around? looks like the last post was back in November 2005.

i'm looking for a shop with lexus experience here in Toronto. I need a few things done: timing belt, serpentine belt (easy), power steering pump, transmission and rear differential flush.

Im in Mississauga, and I have a 01 IS300. I think i need regular 88000 km service and some of my bulbs are burned out.. I dont know how to replace them on this car as there are no screws on the outside of the housing for the license plate lights and the red bumper lights on the back.

sk... you have a shop?

i need timing belt done (with the pullies, obviously). power steering pump is totally ****ed. needs to be replaced or rebuilt. power steering fluid flush will need to be done at same time, but thats a given.

i need an ATF flush/fill, same for rear differential.

the serpentine belt is starting to crack, so i should replace that. but once the power steering pump is off, that will be easy.

i also think i should replace the water pump, which is behind the front engine cover. its close to the timing belt, i believe. so they say you might as well replace that once your already in there.

Hey guys, I take my car to a Master Certified Lexus mechanic based in Oakville.

He used to work at the Erin Mills Lexus shop till last year when he opened his own shop in Oakville. Very nice and clean shop I might add.

I have been to his shop a couple of times and he does excellent work. Knows his stuff very well. He is very, very thorough. He is also very detail oriented and will give your Lexus the excellent attention it deserves.

Works long hours - usually 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

His shop is on Wyecroft road in between Bronte and 3rd Line, right by the GO Station.

sounds sort of far from here, but if he's good, i'll make the trip. although i really dont feel comfortable driving the car in it's current state, so i might need to flatbed it to him.

He is definitely worth it. Where exactly do you live? It can't be more than 20 mins from Mississauga unless you live in Toronto which will be an hour unless you come down during rush hour.

To me a good mechanic who knows what he is doing is rare to find, so I would drive the 45 mins or so it would take you. Just my 2 cents.

Benny, why'd you let your car get to an unsafe state? That is not good car care.

Don't have a shop but know a few techs at different dealers who do work.
