Default Metal fabricator in Vancouver?

Hey guys,
I'm having a common problem with my SC4; the passenger door is broken. A metal rod inside has snapped off and the Lexus dealership wants $430 for the whole lock assembly!!
So I was wondering if anyone knows a metal guy that I can go to that can fabricate the piece for me? I've included a link and a few pics to show what I'm talking about (it looks simple enough)..
Thanx in advance! :-)

have you tried calling any wreckers? im sure theres got to be a couple busted up SC's or Soarers around.

Try www.car-part.com

You type in the year/make/model and select the part you are looking for and put in your postal code and it tells you which auto wreckers have it. Now for your piece you probably cant select that part, your best bet would be just too look up right door

Yea I've already done exactly that. There only place that had SC's was some place in Langley; they had two of them, but had already sold both passenger doors..

I had a '92 SC and ordered various parts from TAP Recycling in Califorina, which specializes in Lexus and Toyota.

http://www.taprecycling.com/

Prices, including shipping, are a bit high but may be cheaper and deliver a better result than fabrication.

The problem I'm having is that any auto-wrecker wants to sell me the whole door for $500. They dont want to sell it piece by piece unless the door is wrecked, and I cant find any of those either.
Does anyone have any other idea of how I can get this piece..?

Did you try state side for a new part? their prices are always more reasonable.

If you still want to repair it, just approach any small shop. They won't charge much (about $50 at the most). Just make sure they can do small tungsten inert gas, aka TIG welding. It's a slower more precise weld that doesn't heat up small parts as much, and produces cleaner, less brittle results.
