I ask them, they said like $250 and other 80 for alignment.
you got your point there, not many out there with licensed toyota mechanics, alot of them are honda (got nothing to do with my Toyota).

im no way am putting down any of the other shops, but just look at who is working on ur car. if they are fairly young, ask what schooling they have been or going to. shops are always gonna be around, but the techs, the mechanics come and go, so always, always, always check who is working on your car.
so if they are young, and untrained, thats like 2 strikes on the negative side. any shop can sell products, but not all can install them properly.
my point with speed syndicate is that 1) you are getting a licensed toyota technician, 2) you are not paying dealership rate!
and say you drive a newer vehicle. that trained, updated mechanic technician would know the ins and outs of every problem that may come with every mod. you cant buy that anywhere. we all know that most dealerships cringe at the site of aftermarket parts on a vehicle they are working on. that is why most dealerships deter ppl from using aftermarket parts. its not that they are better or worse than oem, its just that they have to put in all that extra effort into diagnosing the issue, now u throw in an unfamiliar part into the mix, it gets that more complicated. but if u have a mechanic that is trained as a toyota tech, BUT is playing around and familiar with aftermarket performance parts, then you got a winning combo! they will know what works, what doesnt, and why if it did work, why its not working anymore =P
actually, the basic passing exams to be a licensed tech are all based on GM and ford standards and practices. it is after they are hired into a dealership, do they go for further advance training. that is where if u have an oem related problem, you would take it to the dealership first! independant shops dont have the know how or updated info that could be crucial at diagnosing your car problems. BUT if u have aftermarket parts, or an older vehicle, then take it to an independant shop. look at their track record, and see who is working on ur car.
