LOL jetfire... the reflection of my shoes or something else? haha

i was coming out of the bridgeport/knight merge, heading north on knight, right lane. traffic was stopped in the front, so i had to stop as well (quite abruptly cuz i didnt realize they were DEAD stopped). then within a second, i heard loud skidding noise behind me and then i got hit up the ****. good thing i didnt stop too close to the car in front of me or else i would've been sandwiched lol.

thankfully, it wasn't anything serious, BUT i just got my car detailed a couple of weeks ago...

question:
in the case of an accident, am i allowed to hit the hazard lights and stop on the bridge, right lane? that's what i did with the other driver and i got honked and yelled at LOL telling me that i can't stop there.

you're not allowed to stop on a bridge.. no ifs ands or buts... you take a mental note of his licence plate, and then pull forward (across teh bridge) until you can find a safe place to pull over...

oh damn, i had no idea. i guess they had the right to honk at me then lol. i stayed on the bridge for about 10 mins and then the other driver and i drove down to marine to copy each other's info down.

my very first accident in 6 years of driving... and it wasn't even my fault.. sigh.

^ any estimates from ICBC? (if ICBC makes the cost to repair alot...) and if you have connections at a body shop (or one of ur buddies) get them to hook u up with the F rear.

I got reared on Alex Frazer bride last year and got my body shop to hook me up with the JDM rear conversion on my 07 civic. But then again my damage was close to 3 Grand. dudes car went under mines >_<

Just a thought.....

icbc guy called me the other day saying that the other driver has accepted full responsibility, and that my deductible has been waived. he said that i can go straight to an icbc licensed body shop to get it fixed and let them bill it directly to icbc. i have a claim number already.

so does this mean that i do not have to go to icbc to get an estimate on how much it'll cost to fix the car?

i took it to my dad's frd's body shop yesterday to let him check it out since i was around the area, and he said that my trunk and rear bumper alignment is incorrect. the centre part of the rear bumper is now touching the trunk (i didn't even notice it). he said the inner frame of the rear might be bent, and will need to take out the bumper to make sure. he said it could cost up to $1000. i wonder how much vieta would quote, i asked them for a quote but they haven't replied yet.

the thing is this, the other driver wants to pay for the repair costs so that his record stays clean, but he's thinking $1000 is way too much for the repair. so now, i'll have to set up an appointment with icbc and let them estimate the cost.

and i will not get an F rear lol, it's way to aggressive on a stock 250 lol.

If the other driver is going to start complaining about the cost of fixing there are two things you should do.

1 - keep all your estimates (in writing, printed out by the body shops - not in an email)
2 - make sure the work is done by an ICBC body shop, if I recal Vieta is such a shop, if it isn't ask narfy and he can tell you where to go

The other guy just paying is always fine by me, but if he wants to start complaining about price I'd tell him flat out, you don't like it, we're going through ICBC; the last thing you want is the work to be done and then having an issue with bill payment.

yeah, after he said that the $1000 quote was too expensive, i said we should just get it done through icbc, cuz i don't want to go through the trouble of finding a "second opinion" and so on. it's just a waste of time for me since it wasn't my fault in the first place, and the cost doesn't really matter to me considering i don't have to pay for the repair. if the other driver annoys me even more after icbc gives out an estimate, i'm just gonna ignore him and let icbc deal with the repair.

thanks for the help guys... and girls!
