Headed up there the 1st week of September, I was wondering what are the must see and things to do, Vaca with the wife and kids... Plus, places to eat, since I am Asian (Viet); Chinese, Sushi, and especially Viet—Pho, Bun Bo Hue etc...
Thanks in Advance.

Stanley Park and the sea wall, Capilano suspension bridge, Chinatown, Gastown, Robson street shopping, Granville Island, Steveston in Richmond. If you like beaches, kits beach, english bay, spanish banks.
Viet cuisine: Phnom Penh and Au Petit for your Pho/viet sandwich. Pho van has a decent bun bo hue.
Japanese Tappa: Guu with garlic, Kingyo
All you can eat sushi: ninkazu in richmond, aji toro in richmond, richmond sushi
Chinese dimsum: sun sui wah, kirin
Shanghai: shanghai wonderful
Shopping at metrotown in burnaby and pacific center in downtown (which i would avoid since robson would be better) or richmond center.

i think we have a similar thread posted on here quite some time ago, you can do a search and if you find it, there are some good tips there
do you like chinese food? if so, which type?
also do you prefer the outdoors or hiking or more city site seeing?

I tried a search, saw bit and pieces of certain thing ie, places to eat King Crab and Dim Sum. As for Chinese food, doesn't matter as long as it's good and always packed with local Asians... Probably this time around, mostly city sites and the Capilano suspension bridge.
Seems like ddhleigh covered most on it...

if you have a car. drive up to lynn canyon park. they have a suspension bridge which is free. capilano you have to pay. capilano is a bit longer but not worth the payment. All the tourist go to capilano. it's a tourist trap. even if you have to take the bus, go up to lynn canyon.
for dim sum, i like western lake on 33rd and victoria. it's a nice little place with delicious food.
spanish banks is a better beach. less crowded and more relaxing. parking is a lot easier too.
for viet subs go to tiem banh dong khanh. it's west of knight street on kingsway, good subs. or go to ba le on fraser and kingsway.
for japanese appies. i like zakkushi charcoal grill or guu
some of the places i suggest are a bit more quiet, hidden gems of vancouver.

Had an awesome time up in Vancouver. You guys have an awesome city in Vancouver; beautiful, scenic, the people are so friendly up there...
And I must say Richmond, BC is one clean city, cleanest city I have ever been too... Lots of eats there too. Wouldn't mind becoming a Canadian just to live there...
Didn't know you Canadians observed "Labor/Labour Day too... Stat hours=Holiday hours, lol

1) The whole city in general, super clean and the people were very friendly, didn't feel unsafe at all.
2) I have a pict of it somewhere, but at English Bay/beach saw a building with a huge tree growing out of it...Awesome! Also, the water slide off the beach.
3) Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant—Clean, good eating with Super Service, compared to most Chinese places.
4) Chinese Night Market, both downtown and in Richmond.
5) Olympic Cauldron and Stadium (Why was it getting a major face lift?)
