F-Sport Pedal Mod How-To, 2014 IS350 AWD
Hello to my fellow GTA and Canadian Lexus enthusiasts, I thought I would post a quick how-to for converting the regular pedals of a 3IS into F-Sport pedals. I just did it earlier tonight and it was pretty easy. The process is the same for non F-Sport RC350 and GS350 models
Here are the part #s (and prices) from my Lexus dealer. It is special order, 7-10 business days. I'm shocked that the brake pedal pad cost more than twice as much as the gas pedal. We all get ripped off at our Lexus stealerships, but damnit, I wanted these pedals, lol, and if we can afford a Lexus, we can afford $200 and change. Hope this helps and inspires someone.
GAS PEDAL - 78101-30090 ($69.04 tax in, Ontario price with 13% HST)
BRAKE PEDAL PAD - 47121-30090 ($146.67 tax in, Ontario price)
Remove your floor mat, and then pry off the plastic cover with a min-flat precision screwdriver. There's a tiny slot on the left side, and stick the flat screwdriver in, pry up and turn it a bit to get it up. Then remove the two 10mm bolts. They are quite long, so I used my LI power rachet.
Once the bolts come off, pull the base up, and hold it while sliding to the right to remove the gas pedal.
Here is the old one vs. the new F-Sport one that will soon go in and make your driver cockpit look cooler
IMPORTANT: Do not clean off the white grease that you see on the new pedal and on the pedal rod. That grease is there so the pedal can glide and smoothly push down on the rod when you give it gas.
Remove the old rubber pedal. It should be flexible and come off easily. Here's how it looks without the brake pedal pad.
It's a bit tricky putting the F-Sport pedal pad on, but what I found worked best was to get it fitted starting from the bottom left corner, then use some finger power and pull the top portion up and over, which will pull up the top left. Then for the right side, grab a small pry bar and use it to pull the back lip over the pedal base. It's very important this pad goes on the base tightly.
Use a mirror to check your progress. I bought this telescopic mirror from Princess Auto and I quite like it, lol.
Tada! All done. It looks awesome and very OEM
