I am sure a Camry can do that.

Well, of course. I'm just saying that you learn a lot about a car when you are driving it at 100 MPH, and I was really impressed with the K5 (which is the Sonata), it was stable and buttoned down, felt like it wasn't at the end of what it could do at that speed, thats pretty impressive for an inexpensive family sedan with a 180hp 1.7L 4 cyl.

the N Line Sonata and the GT K5 get the 2.5L which is 290HP/311 lb/ft of torque with 0-60 in 5.7s, and it looks like with this refresh that will be available with AWD...to me that makes it the most compelling car in the segment

The K5 GT ridiculously fast. 155MPH

The Camry TRD is fast to 60mph. Doesn't have as high a top end. But I am sure the Camry is easier to tune

I agree and if they'd give the N Line the option of AWD (or make it standard) like you said, it would be a little Beast and I'd think about getting one to sit in the garage with our ES350!

I like the restyle though and think that it looks Really good!

Thanks for posting this!

Lol no the TRD Camry looks way tackier. But the base Camry looks nicer than the new Sonata. I remember when the new Camry came out. They looked really good and still do. That said its a Camry lol

I think they both look good. I have a slight preference for the new Sonata's front end, but I don't much care for the back end so in that angle/view the Camry looks better. I think the current Camry is the best looking Camry in years (probably since the third gen which I think was 1992-1996). But I also think this Sonata is a huge improvement over the outgoing one which I really did not like. I really liked the Sonata from 2015-2019.

The thing is with the Camry, it looks more like a normal car. It's not trying to be as flashy as the Sonata but still looks stylish. With the Sonata being lower, its going to have less interior room than the Camry. In this segment, people need more utility. Sonata is trying to look more like my GS but can't compete since it has an identity problem(being value driven vs being a luxury car)

Thats just the thing, people who need and want utility buy SUVs. Thats why you see sedans getting more distinctive, because they are trying to make a case as to why someone should buy a sedan over an SUV.

Appearing more upmarket is Hyundai and Kia's goal, I think they succeed here...

As for the Sonata being smaller inside, its actually bigger inside than the Camry. Interior volume for the Sonata is 104.4 cu/in while the Camry is 100.4, the Sonata also has more headroom front and rear than the Camry. Hyundai/Kia has been doing a great job making cars that are big inside in a smaller exterior footprint.

They also do a way better job than Toyota (and Honda) on managing proportions and overhangs on their FWD platforms. It's not too egregious on the Camry but other vehicles are just spectacularly nose-heavy.

The new Accord is a perfect example, a battering ram next to the Sonata.

Dang I thought the Camry had bigger interior since its higher. But yea the new Sonata does look nicer. The Camry still looks pretty good though.

Yeah the overhang on the Accord is terrible...

Yeah the Camry is nearly 3 inches taller. Hyundai is just really good at packaging, like I said the Telluride/Palisade have larger interior space and legroom than vehicles 10 inches longer.

Yeah, you found the one measurement where its smaller. Doesn't negate all the other ones where its bigger or the same

Look closely. They are the same size. So close it doesn’t matter, unless someone is anti-Toyota.
