2024 Sonata Gains Futuristic Look

Where did you get those specs? The height you have there shows them as being the same height, C&D shows the Sonata being less tall.

I'm not refuting that, but the poster I was responding to said it was smaller inside, its not smaller its the same size or bigger inside. The vehicles are basically the same size...the Sonata just looks shorter and smaller, its by design.

I checked the specs on C&D again, they have the same height too, I must have been reading the wrong line.
But having spent a week driving both the K5 1.7T and the Camry 2.5L (had the K5, which is a Sonata, in Alabama for a week, and had the Camry while my Lexus was in the body shop), no doubt in my mind I would choose the K5/Sonata. Put the V6 in the Camry and thats a different story maybe, but I would have to drive that 2.5T...if that comes in AWD in the refresh...

Maybe the new Camry will go with Prius type styling, so long interior space.

In the example above, the total legroom is still higher in the Hyundai. It's just they split it more towards the front.
At 5 foot 10, but with long legs, the Toyota products are the only ones where I need the driver's seat to be at it's rear most position. Ironically, I always had more legroom in the IS than ES, something also seen in the stats.

Well, of course. I'm just saying that you learn a lot about a car when you are driving it at 100 MPH, and I was really impressed with the K5 (which is the Sonata), it was stable and buttoned down, felt like it wasn't at the end of what it could do at that speed, thats pretty impressive for an inexpensive family sedan with a 180hp 1.7L 4 cyl.
the N Line Sonata and the GT K5 get the 2.5L which is 290HP/311 lb/ft of torque with 0-60 in 5.7s, and it looks like with this refresh that will be available with AWD...to me that makes it the most compelling car in the segment

I think this looks generic and very much of the times, nothing appealing to me just another trend chaser. The accord looks better IMO but that car got ruined, they needed to continue the 2.0 engine and give it AWD.

Indeed. Like a mini Audi almost, just lacking the support lol!

I actually like it. I think it looks better in person than it does online. Saw it the other day at Honda. Lol. I get this weird 1980s vibe and that era. I think Chevrolet Corsica in some ways.
I do think the out going “sad face” Sonata is a terrible looking car.

EV ftw!!!
Other than the overly busy looking wheels, I think this car looks fantastic - inside and out!
And if the previous generation's insane mileage is anything to go by, this car will also easily travel (highway) 750 km on one tank. I rented the previous gen in August 2021 for about 10 days while on vacation in Alberta and I could not believe how insanely good the fuel consumption was (and I wasn't driving slow or at the speed limit)

if that was Honda's inspiration, they sure picked one of the worst vehicles of that generation. Lol.
Can't wait to see the new Accord with the luggage rack on the trunk too.
The new Accord to me looks like Honda stopped caring if it sells because they will discontinue it after this. Literally put no money into this redesign to give it a chance.
