They already unveiled the EQE AMG last year, it's nothing new. The specs are also very similar to the current E63.

AMG doesn’t recognize the EVA2 platform cars as real hardcore AMGs, which is why they don’t get a “63” variant. It’s just known as “AMG EQE” here and “AMG EQE 53” elsewhere.

Also, having seen this latest E-class in person, I think you’ll be surprised. It has more presence than the previous gen imo.

Go ahead and pour one out, then. Every Mercedes except maybe 3-4 are dead to me and I own one and love(d) the brand as much as anyone.

My friend with a 2013ish C-class knows a guy with a '21 C63 and I made sure to ask him to ask the guy if he would trade his V8 for the new 4 pot hybrid one. I bet a million bucks I can guess his answer.

Mercedes recognizes the 4-pot C63 as a "real hardcore" AMG so their word doesn't exactly mean much right now lol.

I wouldn't go that far but AMG 4-cylinders would IMO be far worse than just going straight EV.

It literally sounds like Cameron’s junker in Ferris Buellar’s Day Off when he’s having his fit and guns his car. I just watched that movie the other night, I’m serious. It’s similar.

Sounds similar to his 4cyl. The fake pops this Benz makes also sounds like Cameron’s car when it backfires when he lets off the gas:

The get up and go is there in boost with hybrid assist but I think he covered well what made the AMG fans fall in love with the car back in the day.

PS- I like that host, I think he did a really dang good job on his review.

But funny and I think I will have to find a rerun of that movie now, brings back memories and thank you for the laughs.

He is without question the best Mercedes reviewer on YouTube, knows his history and the vehicles inside out and presents it in a way that doesn't draw in the influencer crowd like MercBenzKing or Supercar Blondie and the rest of their ilk. Thomas from Autogefuhl is good too but his depth of knowledge doesn't come close.

Also, his editing, and the way he overlays cars and parts on top of each other in his videos is top-tier, clearly he's an experienced VFX artist.

oh the lack of v8 whining is too much.

that reviewer said (of the C63 S E Performance) it's the quickest AMG car he's ever driven. does it sound like a v8? no. but folks THE WORLD HAS CHANGED. hybrid and ev power trains are the way forward. EVEN FERRARI has acknowledged this. and hello, porsche has only used a v8 in a couple of models ever.

in europe, 'high strung' turbo fours haven been around forever and VERY popular. the v8 love fest here in the u.s. is more about a connection to 'american muscle', i.e., camaros, mustangs, trucks, etc.

get over it, or i guess... keep whining.

I 100% agree with the whining about the C63. That car is all about the engine. Regular C Class? Sure 4 cyl it is what it is, but not the C63. Would much rather it be an EV.

^ This exactly. And if it's the "quickest car he's ever driven" even more reason to be a full EV instead of an i4 hybrid.. what a shame we went from two amazing muscle sedans with the 204/205 V8 C63s to a boring and heavy 4-cyl hybrid. Would've been a lot more interesting to retain the V8 paired with a hybrid.

A true AMG is all about the visceral feel and sound of the engine, the actual 0-60 time is really not that big a deal. This vehicle delivers no such experience...

Back to the E...At the least they didn't slap the new GLE's headlight on this one I saw a Kia, a rather old small sedan, the other day. The front light looks like the new one they put on the new GLE. I wonder if MB got the idea from Kia or Porsche?
