BMW G60 / i5

I don't think we actually have official word from BMW on the battery size yet. Autocar claimed it was 81 kWH in their recent test drive while some other outlets like Drive only provided estimates. I think 83.9 was an assumption from outlets based on the i4's battery size.
If it was 80-84 kWH hours though that would be too small for this vehicle.

I keep forgetting that this car is still coming, thanks OP for bringing it to attention. It's been a long 3 years since I first heard about details regarding the design and then first mules shortly after that discussion on GermanCarForum. Oddly enough both i5 and i7 still ride on CLAR, not yet Neue Klasse dedicated BEV architecture debuting on i3. Not sure what that means for the G20 replacement in 2025, which I guess might be a heavily modified G20 instead according German media.

Ah, that's what I remember. Thank you! I hadn't stayed up to date, as my focus has been Detroit developments and Asia, not so much German stuff, which gets excellent media coverage and is extremely hard to follow, since it's so fast pace compared to Japanese stuff being so vague. The figure of 9 stood out in my head, but I defaulted to 2025 based on 7 year cycles they typically maintain. I'm going back to Bimmerpost and German Car Forum in that case, to catch up.

I like the sharp "sharknose" front end, but the taller hood/longer overhang and kinda boring side profile is meh.

This is the BMW playbook - release a distorted image to soften the blow of when the official reveal happens. They have been doing this ever since the pig nose M3/4 cars. It was same story with M2.

If you look at the old G30 camo photos, the overhang is pretty bad too. Its not like they overnight made it that way, the overhangs have been growing steadily for a few generations now.
